Calling all curious problem solvers with a Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, specialising in AI! You are probably early in your career, either freshly graduated, or have a few years of working experience the importance is your love for data, its innovation and the impact it can have on the business and the future of IKEA.

What you'll be doing day to day

You will be part of a group of new recruits, get trained together to quickly get up to speed, and get into your new role. You will learn how we do things here at IKEA as well as gain in-depth knowledge of the company and our data and analytics practices. The programme will give you the grounding to develop in your role and future career at IKEA. Beyond attending programme activities, you will be able to embed your knowledge directly into real life problems, and build data and analytics products in your team. You will be trained in skills relevant to executing your assignments in the role as a Junior Data Scientist.

As a Data Scientist at IKEA, you will be at the forefront of our digital transformation to enhance our customers' shopping journeys. Your primary mission will be to design and develop innovative AI/GenAI solutions, enabling our customers to discover our product range and enjoy the world of inspiration that IKEA offers.

Motivated by continuously developing and enhancing programming skills and staying at the frontier of modern tools and technologies
Excited about turning theory into practice and collaborating with cross-functional senior team members to deploy our models into production, and design scalable AI systems

You ideally have:

Basic knowledge of modern applied algorithms (predictive and prescriptive) for extracting insights and making decisions based on data
Good grasp of deep learning techniques and their foundation
Basic knowledge of data pre-processing techniques, e.g. in relation to missing data points
Good knowledge of relevant programming languages (ideally Python), including an understanding of concepts from functional and/or object-oriented coding paradigms, and a good grasp of large data manipulation with SQL
Good knowledge of probability theory and statistics, including the distinction between correlation and causality and how to verify the latter using controlled experimental design techniques (e.g. A/B testing)
Good knowledge of IKEAs corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people
