Application Engineer / Technical Sales Representative
At Elicron, we do not just manufacture anodes. We build the lungs of the electrochemical economy. We are in a high-performance phase, scaling up our operations in Schiedam. In this growing phase, we are not looking for a “resource” to fill a seat. We are looking for a pioneer who is restless when things stay the same. If you want your work to have a direct impact on global sustainability, this is where you belong.
Elicron (formerly Permascand and Magneto Special Anodes) is a globally leading company in advanced electrochemical solutions. Built on more than 125 years of combined experience, Elicron brings together around 350 specialists across Europe, North America, and Asia, with expertise that supports long-term industrial needs and the green transition.
This is the role
As our Application Engineer, you will report directly to our Manager of Engineering. While your 4 peers focus on internal design, you are the technical face of Elicron in the global market.
Key responsibilities
- The challenge: You are the link between Sales and Engineering. You will navigate the “creative tension” between external demand (what the customer dreams of) and internal capability (what we can realistically produce), ensuring that every solution is technically sound, profitable, and manufacturable.
- The daily flow: You are the “technical hub”. One week you are in the USA or Europe performing on-site measurements and root-cause analysis; the next, you are in Schiedam to translate those findings into technical specs for our R&I (Research & Innovation) and production teams.
- Freedom: We care about “wow”, not “how”. You have the license to proactively hunt for answers across the factory floor to unburden the client. You are not just following a manual; you are writing it as we scale.
Who you are
We hire for mindset, then for skill:
- The bilingual engineer: You speak “Sales” and “Engineering” with equal fluency. You can maintain technical authority while providing the soft skills needed to manage frustrated customers during a troubleshooting visit.
- The global traveler: You do not just accept travel; you are energized by it. Spending 25% or more of your time abroad is where you do your best work.
- The self-starter: You do not wait for permission or a set of instructions. If Engineering is busy, you walk onto the factory floor to find the answer yourself.
- The technical core: You hold a bachelor’s degree in chemical technology, materials science, or metallurgy and bring experience in industrial electrochemical processes. 3D CAD modeling and technical drawing interpretation are second nature to you. Fluent English is a must; Dutch or German is a major plus.
What is in it for you?
We offer more than just a paycheck. We offer a mission where you play the lead role in our growth ambitions.
- You are stepping into a newly created role. You have the unique opportunity to define how Elicron supports its global customers while acting as a change agent for our internal teams.
Rewards & perks
- A gross annual salary of € 54.432,- to € 71.280,- (including 8% holiday allowance), depending on your level of experience and seniority. This translates to a monthly range of € 4.200,- to € 5.500,- for a full 38-hour workweek.
- An annual bonus of 0–4% based on performance.
- 25 vacation days to recharge.
- You will benefit from our exempted pension scheme, which is significantly more favorable than the standard PMT industry scheme.
- A € 15,- monthly sports allowance.
- Travel compensation in accordance with tax regulations, based on your personal situation.
