Business Analyst

About us

As Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels we design and deliver maritime projects for various markets like Defense & Security, Public transport, Offshore and Dredging.

Our projects are Engineered to Order (ETO). Which means we are involved throughout the project, from the commercial phase and building strategy, until commissioning, delivery and warranty. This makes our work very challenging because the environment is complex and we have a lot of stakeholders.
We work in close cooperation with various internal departments, (sub)contractors, teams on the shipyard and of course the client and her representatives.

We do this with an international team of ‘can-do’ people that are developing new and innovative technologies and ways to support customers and push for a more sustainable maritime industry.

The role

The Business and Project Office (BPO) is looking for a Business Analyst. BPO is positioned as an independent office in the OSV organization, with the aim to structurally enhance performance of the division in project execution, the end-to-end business processes and in strategic decision making.
The role Business Analyst is to support the division with insights/forecasts to better anticipate future changes and developments. By rationalizing the decision-making process with your quantifications and visualizations, the management will be able to make better decisions. Through your helicopter view and excellent reporting skills you are able to identify the root causes of problems, in close cooperation with the business owner. You will translate the business needs into actionable user stories for team members to work with.
You will provide the stakeholders with reliable, insightful information and visualizations in dashboards and reports, combining various systems and data sources. Therefore you are capable of connecting IT (tools), Finance, business KPIs and other expertise’s. You stand for the quality of the information and the visibility of this. Your analyses will support business decisions and drive process improvements. This implies converting business expectations into data analysis. You perform statistical analysis of data, create visualizations of analyzed data and processes and you have the ability to look at things in a different way and recognizing patterns.
As the Business Analyst you will also be part of the Shared Data Analytics Team supporting the group control team and create group-wide standardized solutions.
