About the role: Capital Projects are vital to a company’s ability to grow and/or sustain current operations and therefore be competitive in a commodity industry. There is a direct link between Alcoa’s strategic priorities and the planning and execution of the Alcoa capital program. As a key member of the EUR Capital Procurement Team, in this role you will provide leadership in category management, strategic sourcing, program and project contracting strategy, TCO analysis, contract management, materials management and dispute resolution. Reporting to the Senior Manager Capital Procurement – EUR & NAM, you will be working with and supporting Project Managers for allocated projects across our Capital Program for our locations in Europe. The location for this role is flexible across the European Alcoa Sites (Iceland, Norway and Rotterdam) and other closer locations could be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder engagement and commercial leadership in development of Strategic Sourcing Packages that is aligned with the overall program, regional and global strategies.

  • Awareness of commercial risk, implement robust commercial terms, while reducing the Total Cost of Acquisition and Ownership (TCO).

  • Effective Sourcing through an appropriate sourcing methodology (Ariba S2C) and Contracting Strategies to ensure the efficient achievement of Project Goals.

  • Leading the Negotiation Process and Contract Administration of all elements of assigned projects.

  • Leading the Resolution of Commercial Issues associated with Supplier Performance at Project Level.

  • Identify and Execute Opportunities for Procurement Cost Reduction and Supplier Performance Improvement, including alternative Suppliers and Products.

  • Negotiate Contracts to account for Market and Business Changes.

  • What you can bring to the role: ​

  • Your experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or technical discipline (i.e. engineering) in a manufacturing environment will help you lead the strategy development and implementation for an assigned project portfolio in Europe. Track record in managing CAPEX and/or other major projects are preferred.

  • Professional certifications (CPM, APICS, CIPS) and bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering and Supply Chain Management are desirable.

  • Your experience in Project Management and your cross-functional team leadership skills will help you influence people working close to you on project execution strategies and the procurement/contracting strategies used on major projects.

  • Proficient in ERPs, Procurement systems (Ariba, Oracle, SAP) and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) will be a huge help in your daily work.

  • Very strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level, internally and externally.

  • Your SpEnglish language knowledge will help you in the day-to-day communication with local and global teams.
