Key Tasks and Responsibilities
As part of the Telecom. Systems & Techniques Section at ESA/ESTEC, you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide support to the Agency projects and programs in the area of security engineering & cyber security, including system security design;
definition and implementation of system security requirements;
vulnerability analysis, security monitoring and threat assessment;
The successful candidate shall be capable to:
Contribute to the definition, analysis and consolidation of system security requirements;
Contribute to the definition of security reference architecture for space Systems;
Support system reviews through projects’ lifecycle on security aspects;
Analyse vulnerabilities, assess their impact and propose suitable security mitigations and countermeasures;
Analyse evidence of fixes of vulnerabilities;
Assess Requests for Waivers / Requests for Deviation on security aspects and provide recommendations regarding their acceptability;
Organise and administer security audits / vulnerability assessment / penetration testing activities on ESA projects and programs and analysing their results (including analysis of evidences of findings and corrections);
Provide support on Research and Develop activities during their lifecycle (writing the Statement of Work, assessing Industry proposals, supervising the implementation);
Provide support to the Information Security Officer (ISO).
Qualifications
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
A Master or PhD degree or equivalent in Engineering (preferably in cyber security, or computer science, or telecom, or aerospace), with a strong knowledge and experience in Security engineering / cyber security;
Knowledge of space systems and ground systems architecture;
Good knowledge in network protocols;
Very good knowledge in security best practices and hardening guidelines;
Knowledge of modern applied cryptography;
Knowledge on Information Security Management Systems.
Knowledge on CCSDS protocols and standards is a plus;
Candidates must be eligible for security clearance from their national
security administration;
Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
