At Shimano, we’re hiring a highly technical cloud data engineer to collaborate with our customers and partners on key engagements. To develop, deliver and implement related projects that help our Business to leverage their data to provide business insights.

In this role, you will work with our partners, customers and focus on our Data Service Platform to build scalable and future proof solutions. You will help our customers and partners to remove the constraints that prevent them from leveraging their data to develop business insights.

The Challenge

  • Responsible for leading solution migration (data sources, pipeline, curated layers) into a legacy environment - adhering to standard development processes and agile methodologies.
  • Responsible for leading the delivery of Data Services capabilities and new technologies/solutions to drive business value.
  • Partner with IT Process Owners, Information Management, other IT teams, external partners and enterprise programs to support teams to drive alignment on goals, objectives and delivery of innovative solutions toward Azure platform.
  • Continuously learn via research, technology vendors, IT Architecture and Tech events to get ahead of the curve and proactively being new relevant capabilities to the Data & Analytics product line.
  • What are we looking for?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or business administration.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Microsoft Azure, Development and Support.
  • Strong experience in managing data infrastructure components, specifically within the Microsoft Azure cloud.
  • Setup, support and develop Azure Cloud Services (including Compute, Storage and Networking)
  • Experience using container technologies (e.g. Docker).
  • Experience in managing Azure Data Factory - creating ETLs.
  • Proven track record of developing/maintaining production customer-facing APIs applications with solid understanding of web services.
  • Manages the entire lifecycle of the data infrastructure, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Azure components: service bus, networking setup, Azure functions, Logic app, Data Factory.
  • Different databases Microsoft SQL and NoSQL, like Cosmos DB.
  • CI/CD pipelines (AzureDevOps, Azure pipelines, Azure Repos, Git, Sonarqube) and DevSecOps practices.
  • Terraform for infrastructure - implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep is a plus.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Ability to prioritize multiples tasks and challenging priorities is required.
  • Ability to support team members on technical guidance is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Results driven, inquisitive and wanting to learn by nature, and a self-starter required.
  • Proficient verbal and written skills in English is required.
  • Experience working multi-location teams, Agile/Scrum and DEVOPS.
