The Challenge
Agrifirm is looking for a full-time (32 - 40 hour) Data Engineer. As a Data Engineer you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our modern data platform. You will work on different levels in strong connection with the Data Analysts and Data Scientists, together with two other Data Engineers.
Within our Data Intelligence Center, our Data Engineers focus on the gathering, processing, and storing of data which is critical to the success of all projects. Our internal systems and data platform run on Microsoft Azure. It will be your responsibility to extract data from several internal or external sources, connect, combine, and model them, to make them available to different departments within Agrifirm.
The complete IT landscape of Agrifirm is developed in Microsoft Azure. We use Azure Event Hub for communication between internal services. Azure Data Factory is used for orchestration, ETL is implemented in Databricks using mainly PySpark. Data is made available for consumption using Azure Synapse Analytics. We use PowerBI for dashboarding.
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team in a network organization with limited hierarchy and plenty of room for development. In this role, you report to the Data Intelligence Center Lead.
Responsibilities
Maintaining existing processes and infrastructure;
Connecting new data sources;
Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
Collaborating with domain experts, data analysts, and data scientistst to drive insights and innovation;
To deliver value, you will make sure that data is collected from many different structured and unstructured sources, and transported to the platform, in the right format.
What can we find on your CV?
Experience in working in an Agile/Scrum environment;
In possession of at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in the field of IT;
You speak and write English fluently;
Experience with data is necessary (as analyst, scientist or engineer)
Excellent skills in Python programming;
Some knowledge on CI/CD is convenient.
Nice to have: experience in PySpark, SQL, SAP and Azure
