The role

You participate in projects improving our use of BI technology and methods to support fact based decision-making and the use of high-quality information in management. The goal of BI is to enable access and analysis of information to improve and optimize the decision-making and performance of Marel. You furthermore participate in implementing the BI strategy and governance, enable best practices and skills, deliver data sets to the business, and cooperate with Analytics team to setup a future state strong BI and analytics platform.

In your daily work, you will:

Participate in Marel´s transition to Microsoft Azure cloud environment, with a focus on Data Mart modeling, PBI Premium semantic layer modeling, and PBI Golden datasets governance and SDLC.

Execute BI projects based on priorities, translating business needs and requirements into objectives with acceptance criteria that are simple, clear, and concise.

Participate in promoting and implementing the chosen BI approach and toolset.

Participate in mentoring the BI community within Marel as well as advising and monitoring running BI projects.

Work closely with team members to make data available for users to create a strong BI platform (via Azure Data Lakehouse or Enterprise Data Warehouse), advancing Marel’s BI maturity.

Bachelor’s degree in computer or data science, mathematics, statistics, management, or a related field is required.

A minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which professional capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.

Proficiency in English knowledge, both written and verbal

Knowledge and hands-on experience in Power BI Premium and DAX, Data Modelling using PBI desktop and Tabular Editor, or expertise in Microsoft Analysis Services Tabular model development.

Experience with SSMS, Jira, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and related technical platforms

Understanding of Kimball's dimensional modeling techniques & solid understanding of key BI & Analytical trends

Azure Data Warehousing, Azure DevOps, Databricks, and Python knowledge are a big plus.
