Your opportunity
Infrastructure Engineering (InfraEng) is responsible for delivering Scalability, Observability and Performance of our infrastructure and support to enable team.blue to maximize Service Reliability.

As our new DevOps Engineer you will develop and maintain the Infrastructure for team.blue NL. Together with a young team of DevOps, network and datacenter engineers we believe that building a great experience for our internal customers will enable us to further grow in Europe.

We continuously search for new tools and new techniques to apply, nothing is set in stone and certain, this means that you will be required to grasp new platforms / techniques quickly and be able to put this new knowledge into practice. You will work on several wide spreading issues sprint by sprint as we apply agile to our development practices.

What your day will look like

Whether your day starts at the office in Leiden or from your home on planet earth youll probably start with some coffee or tea. At 10:30 the team gathers for the daily stand-up in which we discuss the plans of today.

You will be assisting different teams with their infrastructure needs, as well as the datacenter team with server provisioning. As Infrastructure Engineering is the functional core of the company you will be fixing a wide variation of issues across different parts of the infrastructure as well as rotating in daytime and night time 2nd and/or 3rd line continuity shifts (on-call).

What you have

  • Degree (preferably in IT or computer science) or equivalent
  • Experience with configuration management systems such as Puppet, Terraform or Ansible
  • Experience with Shell and Python scripting
  • Experience with Linux and Containers/Kubernetes
  • Experience with programming languages PHP, Python and golang.
  • Experience with Git
  • Knowledge about the TCP/IP stack and general networking preferred
  • Experience working with monitoring solutions (icinga, prometheus, grafana)
  • Experience with storage technologies: ZFS, Ceph
  • You enjoy working on complex systems and are able to keep them organized and built from standardized building blocks even when theyre tailored to our internal customers needs.
  • Proficient in English
  • Ability to work 2nd and/or 3rd line continuity shifts (on-call)

    At you work at home or from another workspace. Once a week you will work at our office in consultation with your team. The second day at the office you can choose yourself.
