Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
The Deployment director always considers the consumer first. They are responsible to build and
execute the multi-node strategy across commercial and operations in Europe. To serve our
marketplace through building an advanced network operating model. They are accountable for running a state-of-the-art network to support strategic ambitions through data and analytics decision making.
In this role you will focus on building and strategically enabling network management with
strong collaboration within operations and commercial counterparts. This role is critical in
ensuring product is positioned at the right place and time for the consumer.
Key Responsibilities and General Accountabilities:
Manage and oversee strategic network decisions both tactically and strategically
Implementing the right tools and build strong collaboration with commercial stakeholders to ensure the right pre-season & in-season planning to utilize the European DC Network
Responsible for seasonal article and range deployment across all DC’s, taking into consideration overarching business strategy, defined and agreed deployment principles, transportation costs, warehouse capabilities / capacities (throughput & storage) and ranging
Ensure appropriate transparency to seasonal article and range deployment to senior leadership and business partners (inside and outside of SCM) through relevant master data, reporting, key meetings and communication
Lead and manage the implementation and improvement of DC Network planning tools and processes to constantly optimize the way of working and create agility to adapt market changes
Support Network strategy initiatives with Global Teams to drive decisions for the service oriented and most efficient DC Network set-up across Europe including scenario planning, tracking & data collection
Advising the business with short term, tactical, in-season modelling capabilities to optimize setup, reflect latest trends or to take advantage of changes in demand
Identify DC Network related improvement opportunities and innovation to deliver best in class consumer service and operational efficiencies
Support with Business Case information / analytics regarding current and future volumes creating best fit deployment options across the DC network
Build collaborative relationships across multiple levels
Ensure proactive communication of DC network developments to stakeholders within a matrix organization to drive action
Lead and engage a diverse team of deployment experts, providing direction and clarity on strategy, ensuring individuals can perform to their highest capability
Active participation in European DC Operations team through value-add contributions to discussions and leading strategic topics from concept through implementation
Routinely benchmark what a ‘best in class’ deployment function looks like, how adidas compares to others and what capabilities are needed to prepare successfully for future supply chain challenges

Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
Four-year college or university degree with focus on Supply Chain Management, Information Systems and/or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 10+ years of progressive work experience in a multi-DC network environment
Strong experience with managing complex distribution network projects. Ideally experience related to leading complex network studies in an agile FMCG industry
Sound understanding of network planning tools – experience with Llamasoft advantageous
5-8 years of experience managing a team
