As Director Systems Engineering (Solutions) Poultry you are responsible for leading System- and Lay-out Engineering for Marel Poultry. The team you head creates and implements standardized solution offering for Green and Brownfield projects for poultry in-line processing, in compliance with the requirements of Sales and Service processes
You report to the Managing Director of Marel Poultry and are a member of the Poultry Management Team.
In this role you will lead a department of 60 people with a direct reporting team of 8. You will work with a virtual international team that for the majority is located in Boxmeer, and a substantial US focused team in Gainesville (USA).
What you’ll be doing
Creating and executing a functional system and lay-out engineering strategy that strengthens both the ‘idea to market’ process and ‘market to order/order to cash’ process
Creation and maintenance of standard poultry processing solutions (M/E/S).
Manage and align the global poultry layout capacity and deliverables,
Accountable for technical integrity of our customer projects (quotations/lay-outs)
Order execution via project engineering (lay-out/system related engineering) and lay-out configured standard.
System design that results in optimal business cases, matching the global Poultry processing target profiles
Drive the product portfolio from a system requirements and standardization point of view
Create roadmap for key logistical building blocks that enables line solutions within Poultry
Provide feedback to product development roadmaps and -projects to ensure prioritization and system requirements are part of new developments
Close collaboration with other Marel business units to identify the best current and future solutions for the poultry market within a defined quality, cost price and delivery time
Creation of Innovation vision and strategy for Poultry in close cooperation with R&D.
Guide and coach the solution unit team, including development and implementation of departmental annual plans, employee performance cycles, career path plan & creation of a team-based work environment
Focus on process efficiency and effectivity to achieve engineering KPI’s for poultry and Implement policies and processes for solution unit in close collaboration with the Marel wide Center of Excellence
Establish and maintain strong external relations with development partners and key customers
Responsible for safety standards, legislation and conformity commitment (compliance)

Worked in global positions in an international company, experienced with and feeling comfortable in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization
Have 5 years’ experience in managing and supervising an international team with proven experience on delivering sustainable growth and profitability
Have a technical/technological oriented Bachelor or Master degree
Have In-depth understanding of engineering processes and knowledge of logistic processes.
Have strong leadership skills and can easily create trust and make a good connection with the team. Able to motivate and empower employees
Have strong communication skills, a person who can communicate at different levels within the matrix organization and work within multi-cultural environment including strong stakeholder management
Take initiative for improvement projects, has a strong drive for results, is solution oriented and is persistent in achieving targets
Preferably have basic knowledge of tools like AutoCAD, PLM, FDS.
