European Property Development Director

We are looking for a European Property Development Director. You will represent DP World externally on all Property Development matters, building and maintaining relationships with a network of developers and consultancies, which facilitates the task of growing the Property Portfolio. You will be responsible for the management and leadership of each Development Project, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.

How you will contribute

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive sustainability program in Europe specifically for DPW Property.
  • Lead the development of the regional organization’s overall Sustainability strategy towards the property portfolio, including construction of new sites as well as existing sites.
  • Identify, evaluate, and capitalize on opportunities to reduce property costs by effectively leveraging the property organization’s commercial strength, as well as relationships with brokers and landlords. 
  • Manage relationships with landlords, brokers, developers, and other real estate partners to ensure optimal terms and conditions within Development projects.
  • For Development projects take the lead property role in all new Bids and RFQs, evaluating the property need and advising the wider team on strategy and costs. Delegating to the property team as required, based on geographic location, workloads, size and complexity of requirement. 
  • For Development projects, partner with the internal teams, and be the outward facing lead on all major large scale real estate development projects. 
  • Negotiation of largescale and complex real estate transactions, including finalization of legal documents (leases and Agreement for Leases) on build to suit opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Unit leaders, Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations, to understand and support their real estate requirements. 
  • Prepare and present real estate strategies and proposals to senior level leaders and executives. 
  • Prepare and present real estate solutions to DP World customers, supporting wider RFQ pitches and delivering expert property advice and market knowledge to customers and potential customers.
  • Assist the Account Management Team with Customer calls, meetings, presentations and costings, at a senior level.

    • What you will bring

  • Bachelors degree in Real Estate Management or similar. Post Grad in related or business field. 
  • European Property Lease negotiation, minimum 10 years experience. 
  • Commercial and / or Retail market background. 
  • Experience in dealing closely with Senior Management within Customer organizations. 
  • You are ready to travel between 30 - 50% of the time across the globe to our operations to perform audits on site.
  • You speak and write fluent German and English – additional languages are a bonus, in particular Dutch and French.
