Financial Project Manager

What we expect from you:

  1. Operational finance knowledge (preferably accounts payable processes):
  • Understanding of processes around the accounts payables processes. Among invoice processing, approval workflows, payment processes, reconciliation and vendor management.
  • Willingness to specialize in the specific niche of SpendLab to differentiate yourself and become an expert in your field.
  • Leading the development and implementation of long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's overarching business goals.
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reports, encompassing monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Conducting thorough financial analysis to identify critical trends, opportunities, and risks across all business units.

2. Customer satisfaction:

  • Manage scope and changes, effectively manage project scope to prevent scope creep and ensure that the project stays on track.
  • Setting clear expectations, clearly communicate what the customer can expect throughout the project lifecycle to avoid misunderstanding.
  • Understand customer needs and clear communication, maintain open and transparent communication with the customer throughout the project and take the time to thoroughly understand the customer's requirements, goals, and expectations.
  • Adress issues promptly, demonstrate accountability and a commitment to delivering value to the customer.
  • Realize financial impact and insights that are valuable for our customers.

3. Project management:

  • Project planning, developing a project plan that outlines tasks, milestones, dependencies, resources, and timelines.
  • Quality management, ensuring that project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Risk management, mitigating risks related to working with customer data and project deliverables.
  • Stakeholder management, engaging and managing stakeholders on various levels.

4. Team player:

  • Closure and evaluation, closing out the project effectively involves verifying that all deliverables have been completed.
  • Collaborative attitude, valuing the contributions of team members and actively seeking opportunities to collaborate on tasks and project.
  • Effective communication, communicates clearly and respectfully with team members, actively listening to others' perspectives, and expressing their ideas and feedback constructively.
  • Flexible and adaptive, willing to adjust their approach and priorities as needed to support the team's goals and respond to changing circumstances.
  • Conflict resolution skills, seeking win-win solutions and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Focused and determined to get the job done.

What does your profile look like?
As a Financial Project Manager, you are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Possess 3-6 years of experience in data, consultancy, project and/or corporate finance roles.
  • Proven experience working with financial software, for example SAP or Oracle.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach and a bias towards taking initiatives and actions.
  • Excel in communication and presentation, both written and verbal.
  • Have a proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Keen to specialize in the specific niche of SpendLab to differentiate yourself and become an expert in your field.
  • Willingness to have a steep learning curve, requiring a deep understanding of our business and practical hands-on experience is often essential.
  • Be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent proficiency in both the Dutch and English languages.
  • Be at least 32 hours available and reside in Amsterdam area.
