The FP&A Analyst plays a key role in providing all levels of the business, including senior management and executives, with the information and analysis they need to make operational, financial, and strategic decisions. With strong business/ financial acumen, data management skills, and good interpersonal skills, the FP&A Analyst will contribute to the organization as a financial steward by sourcing and translating financial and non-financial data into meaningul and useful information.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and Analysis - Responsible for championing the budgeting/ forecasting/ financial analysis process for departments as assigned.
  • Data Management - Key contributor to improving/ guiding our data management framework and acting as a subject matter expert for the tools we use, . Excel, MS Power Products, Alteryx, BOARD.
  • Reporting - Working with stakeholders to understand their information needs. Conduct analysis to assess and extract meaningful data, working with subject matter experts to resolve any information/data gaps. Ultimately, developing reports and interaction points to serve stakeholder information needs with the aim to support better decision making and financial stewardship.
  • Modeling - Provide input to benchmarking surveys, corporate projects/ RFP by conducting cost benefits analysis, unit cost calculation, and ensuring business requirements are adequately addressed.
  • Requirements

  • College diploma, university degree or equivalent program. Completed or nearing completion of CPA Designation considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Finance, Accounting, or Actuarial.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Excel. Capabilities in Power BI and/ or Power Query considered an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, quick learner, strong time management skills.
  • Uses logic and methods to solve problems and determine effective solutions.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with multiple areas of finance as well as business units of the organization.
  • Bilingualism (ENG/ FR) considered an asset.
