Internship Demurrage - Supply Chain

This is the role

As an intern demurrage you will be building an understanding and assisting in a variety of activities within the Liquid Bulk Department within the European Supply Chain organization. The primary tasks and the role will be within the demurrage department. Your internship will include building understanding and assisting in vessel/ barge demurrage claims and rebilling, jetty efficiency presentations, while potentially assisting in other Logistics improvement initiatives. 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating Charter Party and Commercial Agreements for the accurate assessment, settlement and payment of the demurrage claims
  • Review, negotiation, settling, rebilling of vessel/barge related demurrage claims and the use of company systems
  • Analyzing vessel time log (survey) reports in order to study the key steps of a marine operation at EU terminals and/or storage locations
  • Drafting specific demurrage presentations for preparing meetings with the specific business teams
  • Participate in the daily rail related activities and supporting potential improvements processes within either the demurrage and rail area 
  • Contributing on ongoing Logistics/SC related projects, increasing cost efficiency and the usage of new tools and systems ( HubSe tool/Dashboard)

    This is what you bring

  • You are a Student, minimum Bachelor level with a strong preference for a Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Business 
  • Enthusiastic person by nature, eager, highly motivated and a fast learner
  • You have excellent MS Office (Word / Excel) skills and preferably basic knowledge of SAP would be a plus
  • English language skills are mandatory
  • You are available for 6-12 months
