Internship - Frontend Engineer @ Omnichannel

ING is looking for a Frontend engineer intern for developing CoachMarks in InsideBusiness Web Portal to improve user experience. INGs InsideBusiness Portal is interactive Web channel offering a single solution for all access and connectivity needs to Wholesale/Business customers.

By implementation of CoachMarks in InsideBusiness Portal, below things will be achieved for

users

  • Creating Awareness of a Feature promotion in an interactive and smart way

  • Users receive short and clear instructions on what the feature outlined is about

  • The team
    You will be a member of a squad which plays a central role in the Omnichannel tribe, which develops and maintain global functionalities in portal and UI component library. The frontend codebase is in JavaScript with Lit. For CI/CD we use Azure DevOps, which we adopted recently and made our life a lot easier. The team currently has 8 talented engineers based in Amsterdam & other locations. The team works in an Agile fashion and takes end-to-end responsibility of the full lifecycle of its applications - from requirements engineering all the way up to production releases.

    Roles and responsibilities

  • Understand Business requirements from Customer Journey experts & Product owners along with exploring market standards. Align with UX designers for the functionality

  • Design, develop, test & deploy functionality thereby delivering CoachMarks feature in Portal

  • Besides this you will get learning objectives like:

  • Implementation of consistence User Experience using high reusability of UI components

  • Advanced JavaScript, Web components using Lit, HTML & CSS, Azure devops toolings

  • Get acquainted with way of working in Tech Product teams with experienced engineers

  • How to succeed

  • You have the ambition to become a software developer.

  • Words like: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git and UI components are not entirely new to you.

  • General understanding of any JavaScript framework like Angular, React or VueJs (nice to have)

  • You are a fast learner and are not afraid of exploring complex problems.

  • You keep yourself up to date with the latest trends and like to try everything out and experiment.

  • You are a team player, always willing to help others in order to achieve big goals together.

  • You are fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Please note: it is mandatory to be enrolled in a Dutch university throughout the internship
