In an Abstract Master’s Degree Internship, you’ll help lead us into tomorrow and build the foundations of a rewarding career along the way.

What You’ll Do

As a Data Scientist, you'll analyse the current process flow of a building and identify data points. Using historical and real-time data, you'll create models that improve how we work at UPS. Can you surpass human planners? Can your models provide real-world data and recommendations with huge-scale impacts? Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and work on one or more of the following business cases:

Eindhoven Hub Process Model (ENDHPM)

One of the main distribution hubs of UPS for ground transport is located at Eindhoven in the Netherlands. We would like you to work on building a digital twin of the package flow process in the Eindhoven facility to define the bottle necks, simulate/predict the package flow and simulate the consequences of different unload and load speeds etc.

Cologne Load Optimisation Gains (CGNLOG)

UPS has a huge Air Hub in Cologne, Germany that can sort up to 200,000 packages per hour. But in this super-sized facility, the best unloading location still needs to be found. That’s where you come in.

Cologne Pressure Point Design (CGNPPD)

The next step is to create a digital twin of the Cologne facility, for our operation teams to identify maintenance needs and improve the design, prioritizing critical areas. We aim to test solutions on the digital twin model, and when successful, carry them out in the physical design. Are you up to the challenge?
