Your role as Junior Researcher DFIR

The Security Research Team focuses on identifying, investigating, and developing solutions for security problems for which current best practices are not sufficient. Our work is focused on improving the maturity and capabilities of various services and products that Fox-IT and NCC Group deliver. We aim to share our research as widely as appropriate to educate fellow colleagues and stimulate external publicity and industry interest. In this important role you will:

·Research and create new capabilities for Fox-IT/NCC Group services, products, or teams;

·Bridge the gap between the Security Research team and our Security Operations Center;

·Improve our Network Detection logic using continuous coverage & integration testing;

·Write signatures and improve upon our in-house internet scanning framework;

·Write detection logic for our detection platforms;

·Provide internal knowledge sharing (blog posts, tech-talks, workshops).

A highly motivated and curious individual who is willing to apply a learning mindset and skill set to improve upon or create new services, products, and teams in a deep technical fashion across Fox-IT/ NCC Group. If this sounds like you, we are looking for the following concrete skill set:

· Has a strong exploratory, curious, and analytical mindset;

·Has strong knowledge of the latest developments in cyber security;

·Has a background in reverse engineering and scripting;

·Has knowledge about networking fundamentals;

·Is willing to learn the above.
