Logistics Engineer (distribution) – shape the future of distribution in DSV

Do you want to design and develop DSV's European distribution?

Then join us in this vital role where your contributions will be instrumental in the extensive transformation of our distribution network. We offer a stimulating work culture that values innovation, collaboration, and individual growth.

Join our growing European Groupage Network team

You will be joining a still-growing team central to our efforts to become One High-Performing Network within DSV, which is embodied in our 2027 European Groupage Network strategy.

The international team of 12 is based at the DSV headquarters in Hedehusene, Denmark. However, you are not required to be based here, as we offer a hybrid work environment where many of your new colleagues work from DSV offices in Germany and the Netherlands.

“We take great pride in the strong internal cooperation within the team and foster meaningful connections across DSV and throughout Europe,” says European Network Director Niels Jørgen Nielsen.

Develop and standardise distribution concepts and processes

As our new logistics engineer, you will have a central role in the continuous development and standardisation of our distribution network. You will implement strategies and standards for the transport network and ensure timely and law-compliant deliveries for our customers across Europe – collaborating with colleagues throughout DSV transportation.

As part of this evolving role, you will also eventually delve into sustainability and routing optimisation as well as identify avenues for more efficient and sustainable routes.

More specifically, your key tasks include:

  • Developing and implementing transport strategies to optimize the distribution of goods throughout Europe
  • Monitoring and coordinating the transport network to ensure the timely delivery of shipments and performance enhancement
  • Working with our digital network twin to identify and implement improvements in the different workflow processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards in transport and distribution
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an optimal European Groupage Network
  • This job will take you travelling approx. 30 days a year.

Solid distribution and groupage network experience

You are quick to understand processes, and with your strong collaboration and communication skills, you excel at conveying messages at all levels of an organisation. It is also crucial that you can maintain an overview in a very busy work environment where things often change rapidly.

    Also, we expect you to:

  • Have 5+ years of experience in the transport and logistics industry
  • Bring in-depth knowledge of European transport networks and distribution systems
  • Know your way around TMS, driver scanners, master data, routing, distribution area reorganisation etc.
  • Have project experience and know how to observe deadlines
  • Have experience in developing and implementing transport strategies and process optimization
  • Understand regulatory requirements and quality standards in transport and distribution
  • Have experience working with haulier/partner agreements/contracts like SOPs and SLAs
  • Speak and write English effortlessly
  • Want to know more and apply?
