Rotterdam Area
The head office of the Benelux organisation is situated in Breda. The production plants are located in the Rotterdam port area.
The Rotterdam refinery is one of the most modern and environmentally friendly of its kind. Since being put into operation in 1960, the plant has undergone several renovations. The sizeable capital investments through the years have made the refinery ultra-efficient.
Officially called the Rotterdam Plasticizers & Intermediates Plant, the Rotterdam Oxo-alcohols Plant actually comprises three production facilities: the Rotterdam Oxo-Alcohol Plant in Europoort, the Phthalic Anhydride Plant and the Rotterdam Plasticizer Plant, which are both located in Rotterdam Botlek. It is the largest producer of plasticizers in Europe.
The Pernis Lubricant Plant - or Lube Oil Blending Plant - produces various types of engine oil for cars and lubricants for industrial applications.
What role will you play in our team.
As a Rotating Technician you are responsible for safely maintaining and repairing all types of rotating equipment at the refinery and chemical plants with the aim of continuing/improving the integrity, reliability and availability of the installations.
About you
To be eligible for this role you must:
Be familiar with maintaining, installing, inspecting and overhauling compressors, pumps, gearboxes, mixers, air fans, etc.
Specify materials and tools required for work and ensures repairs and maintenance are completed within the specified required time frame.
Know how to deal with malfunctions; establish a diagnosis, resolve the fault, advise and draw up repair proposals in consultation with the manager.
Set priorities every day with regard to the work to be done in consultation with the operational user, and work on jobs that are carried out in a planned manner.
Be able to be deployed as a job leader. This means carrying out various maintenance tasks both independently and as part of a team.
Be responsible for the (partial) preparation, safe execution, supervision and administrative completion of the job, checking the progress of the work and reporting in SAP.
Furthermore, you should have the following technical knowledge and skills:
A completed MBO level 4 course in Mechanical Engineering
Relevant work experience in a petrochemical environment is a plus, but we also cordially invite school leavers to apply.
Knowledge of maintaining compressors, pumps, gearboxes, mixers, air fans
Knowledge of maintenance planning tools such as SAP, Primavera and Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge of the English language
Able to work independently and in a team.
Decisive and solution-oriented, knows how to set the right priorities and take initiative.
