Maintenance Engineer

With the opening of the first ever innocent-owned factory, we want to be known as “the earth’s favourite little healthy drinks factory” which entails setting ambitious and inspiring targets setting us apart from how a factory is typically operated. This factory will produce more than 300 million litres a year and has 220 employees working in a 24/7 operation.

Reporting to the maintenance and engineering lead, the Maintenance Engineer will ensure that equipment is maintained to the highest possible standards to maximise productivity and quality in a safe environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the Operational Availability of the site by proactively identifying threats-to-availability. You will ensure that the reliability and availability of the assets are actively being monitored and analysed, the threats to this reliability and availability are timely identified and assessed, and mitigating and eliminating measures are identified, developed, and implemented in a risk-based approach. Throughout all of this you will ensure you and your colleagues work & stay safe.

So, what does this role entail?

1. Maintenance standards to ensure equipment reliability: 

  • Collect, analyse, and report reliability performance data of equipment and systems.
  • Provide statistical data for decision making on investments and modifications.
  • Initiate and lead – or facilitate – Causal Investigations or Root Cause Analyses studies on reliability incidents, and ensure follow-up actions are specified and documented, organized, and expedited, and delivering.
  • Initiate changes to existing (RCM based) maintenance plans and spare parts management.
  • Facilitate the process to assure that (latent) reliability threats and reliability opportunities with regard to systems and equipment are pro-actively identified, prioritized, and mitigated or eliminated.
  • Leading interdisciplinary teams to devise and implement systemic solutions for operational, technical, and technological issues impacting the availability and reliability of systems and equipment.
  • 2. Maintenance plans & projects to increase operational availability:

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of process equipment including new developments.
  • Undertake feasibility studies.
  • Recommend projects that deliver a cost, H&S, efficiency or sustainability benefit.
  • Optimisation and alignment of resources/timing of long-term maintenance plans.
  • Forecasting and strategic planning for system overhauls and upgrades, while taking into account long-term maintenance costs.
  • Setting and tracking maintenance KPIs.
  • 3. Maintenance delivery:

  • Playing an active role in helping the organization set up and execute , , or any other preferred maintenance program.
  • Participate in major repairs, installations, and diagnostics of critical equipment.
  • Ensuring that machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime.
  • Conducting and overseeing maintenance process audits.
  • Diagnosing faults.
  • Responding to major equipment breakdowns.
  • Establishing different maintenance procedures and protocols.
  • Training staff on equipment operating and maintenance procedures.
  • 4. Collaboration with different departments: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all factory teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all existing equipment suppliers and potential future suppliers.

    Profile:

  • Bachelor (thinking) level electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Strong affinity with maintenance/operational work processes in a food factory
  • Proven track record in the process industry with exposure to Engineering, Maintenance and/or Operational processes
  • Skilled in Reliability Engineering principles, processes, practices, and applications
  • Skilled in the use of Maintenance Management Systems for data retrieval for Reliability Engineering purposes
  • Knowledge and keeping up to date with the latest (electrical) technology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • NEN3140 installation responsible for the assets
  • Certificate of competence in high-low voltage is a plus
  • Demonstrated project management skills, risk management and prioritisation
  • Team player and good in building relations
  • Language requirements – Fluent in Dutch, both in writing and verbal. Fluency in English is preferred
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills
