To support Business Intelligence team in Global Business Services we are looking for a driven Power BI Engineer who is ready to join our mission by architecting, designing, and implementing advanced data engineering and modeling solutions that underpin our BI capabilities. This role is critical for developing a robust, scalable BI infrastructure that supports strategic data analysis, reporting, and visualization needs across Marel.
In your daily work, you will focus on different areas as following:
Data Engineering & Architecture : Develop and maintain a scalable and efficient BI infrastructure, focusing on data engineering practices that enhance data accessibility, reliability, and quality. Architect data models and ETL processes that serve as the backbone for insightful analytics and BI solutions. Maintain and enforce best practices for Power BI development, including data governance, security, and documentation.
Advanced BI Solution Design : Lead the design and implementation of complex BI projects, transforming business requirements into technical specifications and actionable insights. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of semantic models, Power BI reports and DAX queries to ensure high performance and usability. Design and develop enterprise-level Power BI semantic model, dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making. Stay abreast of the latest Power BI features and technologies, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.
Project Leadership & Execution : Drive BI projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations, leveraging agile methodologies where appropriate.
Data Governance & Quality : Implement data governance policies and practices to maintain the integrity, security, and quality of data within the BI ecosystem. Advocate for best practices in data management and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
BI Platform Optimization : Collaborate with IT to optimize the BI platform for performance and scalability. Lead efforts to enhance data warehousing capabilities and integrate new data sources, ensuring the BI environment evolves to meet changing business needs.
Community Leadership & Training : Foster a culture of data literacy and BI excellence within Marel. Lead training initiatives, mentor BI practitioners, and share knowledge to elevate the BI competency across the organization.

Academic Background: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field.
Professional Experience : At least 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, BI architecture, or a closely related field, with demonstrated success in designing and implementing BI solutions.
Proven experience : Power BI enterprise solution development, including semantic models, composite models, report and dashboard creation, DAX, and Power Query & strong understanding of dimensional modeling principles and experience with SQL and relational databases.
Technical Expertise : Knowledge of data processing, data architecture, and BI best practices. Advanced skills in Power BI, data modeling, ETL processes, and data engineering methodologies. Proficient in SQL and knowledge in Fabric, Cloud, Azure, Databricks, Python is a plus
Language Proficiency : Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Analytical & Problem-Solving : Strong analytical mindset with the ability to dissect complex problems and engineer efficient solutions. Skilled in statistical analysis and leveraging data for strategic decision-making
Communication & Collaboration : Exceptional communication skills, adept at data storytelling and influencing decisions through insights. Collaborative team player able to work effectively across technical and business teams.
