The opportunity
The Procurement Manager for Direct and Indirect spend collaborates closely with the regional lead to oversee procurement activities. You will ensure that all activities align with the procurement strategy, goals, and global procurement policy and standards. In this role, you will work collaboratively with both local and global procurement teams. Additionally, you will take a hands-on approach to managing supplier relationships and fostering internal stakeholder relationships with global procurement colleagues and plant-based management teams.
How you’ll spend your day
Lead in accordance with the Global Procurement Policy and Standards, the site procurement activities from category management, contract implementation and supplier management;
Lead in building and extending relationships with internal and external stakeholders for the development and improvement of defined categories in line with business requirements, optimizing security of supply, which contributes to business profitability and cash flow;
Identify, develop and implement improved supply initiatives to deliver sustainable value, appropriate quality and service and a secure, safe cost effective and ethical supply base;
Focus on delivering best practice results and a competitive advantage to the company;
Contribute to managing the sourcing cycle, bringing in breakthrough ideas and best-in-class approaches;
Developing, supporting and implementing all tactical and strategical procurement projects held locally and globally;
Executing the outcome of category strategies and sourcing action plans to effective implementation and value realization;
Coaching the team of stakeholders to successfully execute the procurement strategy to ensure the continuity of the procurement processes.
Provide subject matter expertise related to local and regional market conditions, technologies and services to support the global procurement team with risk management and decision making
Work closely with internal stakeholders e.g. MS&T, Engineering, Facilities, Supply Chain etc to develop and implement local and regional sourcing strategy
Manage supplier selection and preferred supplier list for the region and drive compliance across all relevant plants
Deliver an exceptional cost and budget management strategy aligned with global targets
Your experience and qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, science, or related field such as Supply Chain Management, Operations, Purchasing, Finance, or similar
Procurement experience with a proven track record in contract negotiation
Proficient in regional-level category strategy development, with adept Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) skills and experience in implementing effective supplier performance management strategies for optimal supplier cost, performance, and delivery.
Familiar with Ariba, financial systems, ERP systems, and reporting solutions
Thorough understanding of contract management and P2P best practices, policies, and tools
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen awareness of multicultural dynamics
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive action
Cultural sensitivity within a global organization
Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is advantageous
Capacity to thrive in a multinational, matrix-structured team environment
