Project Manager - Tech Standards (Part-time)

This is a Part Time Opportunity, 24 h/w, preferably Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

We are looking for dedicated engineers to join our Central Tech department in our Amsterdam HQ. Here we design, build and operate all the technology that our Booking.com product development teams need in order to deliver great travel products to our customers.

As Project Manager, you will coordinate & manage sophisticated technology, business critical and operational excellence initiatives that may span across technology teams or multiple departments. You will work closely with people of diverse functional backgrounds (] Technology, HR, R&C, Finance Systems, etc.) and will be based in Amsterdam. 

We are looking for a motivated Project Manager with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and support the successful delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will assist in project planning, coordination, and communication, contributing to the achievement of project goals and objectives.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scoping, planning and the delivery of projects with medium complexity.
  • Collaborate and support the Program Manager to define and scope program capabilities within the organization and other teams.
  • Track and monitor project tasks to ensure they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks and providing solutions in a proactive and collaborative way.
  • Ability to influence Senior Managers level and productively interact with Directors.
  • Convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Coordinate project activities and ensure all team members are aligned with the project’s goals and timelines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities. 
  • Skills and requirements:

    Experienced project manager with 3 years with a solid track record in managing the full end-to-end project lifecycle on technology and business projects. 

  • 2+ years of previous experience using Jira Software for Project Management
  • Familiarity with Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence etc.
  • Curiosity and motivation to learn how to navigate & execute projects in an agile environment.
  • Enjoys a fast paced, multifaceted environment and is able to work well under pressure.
  • Aware of change management practices and willingness to guide teams through change.
  • Results oriented & customer focused.
  • Experience in working with a large enterprise Platforms/ Technical team is a plus 

    Communication & relationship management

  • Effective communication in 1:1 environments and small groups.
  • Strong influencer in 1:1 environment.
  • Ability to construct relevant written communications, ranging from emails, or assisting with presentations. 
  • Ability to adapt and adjust format, style & content of communication to connect & engage with the specific audience.
  • Organized & structured 

  • Demonstrates a resilient and determined approach, maintaining composure and a persistent mindset to successfully navigate challenges and drive projects to completion. 
  • Possesses the ability to stay calm under pressure and a proactive attitude to overcome obstacles, contributing to the successful delivery of tasks and projects.
