In support of our portfolio of 2700+ hybrid and open access scientific journals, you will actively contribute to advancing science, improving health outcomes, and fostering equitable participation in publishing.
About the Role
You will play a vital role in ensuring that our publications meet ethical standards and guidelines. You will conduct thorough assessments of manuscripts , identifying any potential ethical concerns and providing recommendations for improvement. Your keen attention to detail and great analytical skills will help maintain the integrity of our publications and uphold our reputation in the industry.
Responsibilities
Gathering and analysing confidential data from diverse sources to resolve ethical concerns;
Providing recommendations to members of the Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team, Publishers, Editors and learned societies for the resolution of ethical concerns;
Preparing corrections and retractions for published articles
Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as Editors and Publishers;
Gathering insights to propose changes to editorial workflows and processes in response to new behaviours or challenges;
Sharing insights around new behaviours and challenges in research integrity with Publishing teams. Making recommendations which seek to detect or prevent these behaviours;
Becoming an expert in the use of technologies and tools which provide insights into potential unethical behaviours;
Providing feedback to product managers regarding potential new features or improvements to existing workflows, and participation in testing and pilots.
Requirements
Have experience within scientific and medical publishing;
Possess knowledge of peer-review and the publishing process;
Be a skilled communicator with the ability to build great relationships with stakeholders;
Have excellent analytical, organizational and prioritization skills;
Be able to work methodically and skilled at problem-solving and fact-checking;
Be familiar with handling large datasets.
