The position is important in setting the IFF system up for success by providing the fundamental quality engineering tools and skills to successfully create and implement quality systems, process improvement, process, and quality control. This position requires successful interaction with all plant functional management and workforce to understand, manage, develop, simplify, and improve processes using the entire basket of quality engineering skills as appropriate.

It is responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements as detailed in the responsibilities below. This position maintains a strong presence within the production environment in relation with balancing short term production issues with long term quality objectives.

The scope of this position includes resolution of all types of quality issues within a specific operations environment. This includes root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues involving process design, equipment, environment, procedures, and personnel. Support the implementation of quality engineering tools as appropriate to make plant processes more accurate, precise, and reliable.

Responsibilities:

  • Help drive continuous quality improvement through problem solving with cross-functional teams using Statistical Process Control and Lean Manufacturing tools, such as Process Flow mapping, 5s, Six Sigma and FMEA.
  • Support management of internal complaints and validating the effectiveness of the CAPAs that were executed.
  • Help address High-Risk customer quality complaints, including root cause analyses and provide corrective/preventive actions.
  • Establish, implement and improve procedures for maintaining high standards of quality (ISO), GMP, ILVT.
  • Monitor and audit department’s conformance with local/corporate Quality Assurance standards, system and procedures. Internal auditing and coordinate external audits of customers or certifying bodies like ISO.
  • Within respective production area, trending on root cause of non-conformities. Including training plant responsible in doing correct root cause analysis and in providing corrective/preventive actions.

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO) or higher in Engineering or Applied Sciences
  • We rely on your 2 or 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering
  • Knowledge of Industry & Regulation Be familiar with all applicable regulatory requirements, risk assessment tools (e.g., FMEA, HACCP, etc...), certification standards (quality, environment, sustainability, GMPs). Be familiar with the roles and responsibilities of all personnel within the supply chain to facilitate effective communication and support Knowledge of Flavor/Food/Fragrance/Cosmetic Industry
  • Good training, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Project Management Skill Effective organizational and project management skills Strong analytical and systems/process skills
  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO 9001 standards
  • Quality Best Practice Understanding IFF policies Preferred ISO Internal Auditor Certified & HACCP Certified
  • Leadership & Decision making Ability to lead teams & work in diverse groups of people & roles. Ability to work independently to manage work progression & time. Shows Initiative beyond the scope of a project/task & make a high-quality decisions

  • Fluency in English required. Dutch fluency also preferred
