Quality Engineer - Zoetermeer / fulltime

This role is part of our Specialized Nutrition Factory located in Zoetermeer and reports to the Quality Engineer Team Lead. In this factory (with over 500 Danoners) we produce specialized liquid medical nutrition contributing to the well-being of vulnerable target groups (infants, elderly and sick) in over 55 countries.

As a Quality Engineer, you are an ambassador of Quality and Food Safety within Supply Point Zoetermeer. You set Quality and Food Safety standards and enable continuous improvement of the Quality Performance of products and processes to ensure Quality.

Your main responsibilities:
• Develop and implement food safety, hygiene, and quality requirements for processes, equipment, buildings/utilities, procedures, ingredients, and packaging materials in line with internal and external directives and standards;
• Transfer data into valuable information & continuously improve the quality and compliance of products and processes, in line with business needs and agreed QFS KPIs;
• Support or take the lead in root cause investigations regarding Quality and Food Safety issues;
• Act as a business partner by identifying opportunities for productivity improvements with regard to Quality and Food safety standards and drive these;
• Express the quality mindset on the shop floor, perform inspections and quality tours on the shop floor and stay in close contact with operators, technicians and process engineers;

• Attend daily meetings to support the filling department to produce safe and high quality products;

• Set up (validation) protocols, align with departments on the feasibility and execution of the protocols according to planning.

About You

In order to be successful in the role of Factory Quality Engineer we expect you to have:
• Bachelor's or master's degree with at least 1-3 years of experience in quality assurance

• Experience in production environment (ideally in food, pharma, or biotechnology);

• You like working in a production environment: a beautiful product (medical food), a technical and fast-paced environment;
• Knowledge of food safety/quality management systems (HACCP, ISO, FSSC, GMP, ;
• Analytical and factual, stress resistant and able to prioritize work activities;
• You are a hands-on person: result driven, practical, strong bias for action;
• You are able to effectively communicate with people at different levels in the organization;
• Fluent speaking and writing in Dutch is a must!
• Being able to write and read fluently in English.
