About the job

The raw material markets are changing and evolving rapidly nowadays, which brings a lot of challenges but also exciting opportunities. Your main challenge will be to secure the best possible position for Nouryon in these markets. In this role you will make an important contribution to the execution of the business strategy and the success of Nouryon. You will Lead a team of PR Category Managers (4-6) to secure commercial excellence across the regions, drive performance improvements within the supply chain and secure that all procurement deliverables within projects are provided on time at a high quality.

In your future role as Regional Procurement Manager you will

  • Act as the Business Partner to one or more regional business teams to agree on cost targets, secure alignment between PR procurement activities and Business Line (BL) priorities as well as securing a strong communication and collaboration overall with the BU and with the other procurement regions
  • Develop and drive the organization to identify improvement areas, explore cost reduction opportunities and establish a total cost of ownership approach internally and with external suppliers.
  • Deploy the category management organization with the relevant tools, metrics and follow up to ultimately establish an efficient supplier management process in collaboration with other procurement regions.
  • Lead the regional team to develop the regional organization by setting challenging objectives, provide opportunities for learning, development, and personal growth for the teams.
  • Work actively with key stakeholders across BLs and within manufacturing, engineering, finance, and other functions to build alignment around targets and establish common execution plans to support business growth and profitability improvement.
  • Manage the overall budget for the region and develop annual plan with key milestones, activities, and target settings.
  • Represent the Business both inside and outside Nouryon; build and maintain a network of business contacts in support of organizational objectives; conducts business in a responsible and ethical manner.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for products and services to support the identified business needs and in line with the Global Procurement strategy.
  • We believe you bring

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Economics, Business Administration or Science.
  • At least 10 years working experience in procurement of which 5+ with raw materials.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal as well as in writing.
  • The ability to run projects independently 
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and inspire people internally and externally
  • Great if you have

  • Affinity with procurement systems such as SAP and Ariba

  • Focused on value creation and performance management
  • Highly numerate with great analytical skills

    You will have the chance to work with various stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Amongst them is a mature procurement team, senior management teams and several site functions, and of course also suppliers all over Europe or in other regions. Our employment package comprises:

  • A permanent contract with a probationary period of 2 months.
  • A gross basic annual salary including holiday allowance based on your knowledge and experience between EUR 84.700 and EUR 143.000.

    This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, based in Amsterdam. You will be reporting to the PR Procurement Director who is also based in Amsterdam.
