Regulatory and Procurement Project Lead

The Team

The Global Procurement Bank within ING is headed by the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO). The CPO is responsible for the procurement role and countries functionally report into the CPO.

Procurement objective is to maximize the business benefits ING gets from its suppliers and ensure the integrity of the supply chain, while operating efficiently and with sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

  • As part of Policies and Risks team, you will part of an international team and report to the Global Head of Policies and Risks who is directly reporting to CPO.

    The team, within its mandate, play a pivotal role in steering risk management and compliance towards Procurement community, ultimately ensuring supply chain integrity and contributing to Third Party Risk management.

    Role and Responsibilities

    As Regulatory and Procurement Project Lead you have proven procurement experience with a focus on the Regulatory and Procurement processes. You will contribute to a safe, secure and compliant environment with regards to Procurement activities. In the role you will deal with various tasks not limited to:

  • Supporting the team in assessing Policies and Regulation requirements, identifying impacts on Procurement processes and suppliers, contributing to the success of the assigned projects

  • Supporting the projects delivery by defining necessary instructions and toolkits, helping in entities coordination, monitoring progress, reporting results.

  • Contributing to identify, assess and implement Procurement process improvements enabling operational efficiency and effectiveness as well as promoting consistency and robustness across entities.

  • Managing internal client relationships preparing and/or assessing documentation. Main interaction will be typically within Procurement community and with stakeholders in relation to Regulatory and Procurement aspects.

  • Building your know-how as as expert in the area of competence and keeping yourself informed and educated on incoming policies and regulations.

    As a Regulatory and Procurement Project Lead you have the following:

  • 5-8 years of work experience within Procurement, consulting background is considered as a plus.

  • Proven expertise in Regulatory topics being directly or indirectly exposed to banking regulations.

  • Proven expertise with Procurement processes (preferably coming from various experiences and industries) being able to identify best in class solutions, optimize and re-engineer processes to achieve efficiency, effectiveness and compliance.

  • Action oriented and result driven: you take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm. You influence others to take timely actions and take on new challenges with a can-do attitude.

  • Analytical and data driven mindset being able to crunch and organize proficiently large set of data to support and influence decision (advanced XLS is a must, Power BI is a plus).

  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills, able to create C-level presentations.

  • Ability to persuade, familiar and used to negotiate and find win-win solution with various stakeholders achieving consensus through compromise.

  • Master degree education level

  • Advanced English language level (spoken as well as written)
