What you will do
As Research Project Manager you support researchers with the coordination and management of various, often complex, collaborative research projects with multiple stakeholders. You take the lead in the non-scientific work of research projects. You are responsible for planning, organising and managing several national (e.g. Nationaal Groeifonds), international (e.g. EU Horizon Europe) or interdisciplinary research projects.

Where you will work
creates and facilitates the network between Leiden scientists and public and private partners, with a focus on generating societal impact through research, knowledge and innovation. We support scientists at Leiden University in their ambition to further develop and develop their research. To achieve this goal, we work closely with academics, companies and many other stakeholders in the Leiden ecosystem.
You will be working from a new pool of dedicated project managers at LURIS, our Knowledge Exchange Office. With this pool of research project managers, we are helping researchers to plan, organise and manage complex or interdisciplinary research projects, in particular in EU Horizon Europe projects and complex national projects, including those of the Nationaal Groeifonds. You are part of the active and lively Leiden Research Support Network, the community of research project managers and of course the LURIS team.

In this team, we are looking for someone who can work independently. Every job is different, so in the beginning we will devote attention to your onboarding. You are enterprising, service-oriented and able to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships. You feel comfortable in the role of coordinator and sparring partner for (a diverse group of) senior researchers. With your analytical mindset, you are able to quickly assess what is going on. You have a strong sense of responsibility and a result-oriented attitude. Your way of communicating is clear and easy and you are not deterred by deadlines.
