Safety Risk Engineer in Procedures

Description

As a safety risk engineer in procedures your main responsibility is to assess, review and approve (high) risk work procedures on safety. Procedures are developed by engineers who are organized throughout the entire D&E organization. To be successful in this job you are having deeply rooted principal knowledge of safety & the ability to uphold standards in challenging situations. Beside that you are able to communicate effectively with the stakeholders and be able to process the large amount of information.

Additionally, as safety and risk engineer, you will be working on the structural solutions (means and methods) for safety processes in D&E and other sectors. Working on the means and methods, requires work within multi-disciplinary groups with many stakeholders.

Key Activities

  • Ensure the procedure safety assessment is performed at right quality in relation to human safety.
  • In Scope of the assessment: (e.g.)Check if the actions as described in the procedure are compliant with the ASML safety standards.Check if the procedures are compliant with the latest Standards for procedures (safety related, e.g. LOTO, human error, confined spaces)Check on completeness of the described safety informationCheck if prescribed the tooling will be used in a proper manner (e.g. hoisting with standard tooling within the weight load limit (WLL) with sufficient safety margin) Check on completeness of the addressed safety hazards.Sign-off the procedure on safety aspects. Assessing and, if needed, adjust the safety classification / risk level of a procedure.
  • Provide results (mail, face to face meetings or by visiting actual situation) to projects & engineer
  • Involve and align with EHS counterpart for High risk procedures and escalations.
  • Shares knowledge incl. best practices with direct colleagues and engineers across ASML
  • Support in the further developments/improvements of means and methods to ensure human safety in design. 
  • Position in the organization

    The safety review engineer reports to the Grouplead Human Safety in Design. He/she frequently interacts with team members of the D&E safety, ME/EE group leads, ASML D&E employees and D&E Safety representatives and EHS global organization.

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor/Master in Safety Engineering.
  • Experience in safety in design.
  • Typically 2-5 years’ experience in product development/ engineering organizations.
