Position Overview
As a SAP Basis Service Manager, you will have a key role leading our outsourced partner practice who manage and govern multiple SAP ecosystems from a Basis perspective according to best practices and standards linked to the different product leverage by each of the instances. Leveraging our preferred service provider resources, you are responsible to ensure the SAP Basis team deliver high quality services associated to the deployment and maintenance of complex SAP landscapes, implementing technical changes, and troubleshooting issues to ensure the system is running smoothly.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and deliver technical solutions that leverage the best capabilities of SAP Technical Stack and associated products. You will also be the go-to person and thought leader for any SAP technical Platforms managed by CRH Europe, providing guidance and support to stakeholders, including but not limited to Architects and various SAP Functional teams.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
You are leading the SAP Basis operations related to our SAP landscape by managing efficiently our support and hosting partner in charge of:

  • Platforms availability and Performance (e.g: Monitoring, Backup, Database accessibility and archiving, housekeeping, Printing availability, Transport Management availability and maintenance. You control the Patching execution)
  • Manage and Steer any Major Incident when required and ensure timely resolution of Incidents – ensure additional ITSM process such as problem management, Root Cause analysis, when relevant
  • Control and ensure Change implementation related to SAP Infrastructure & underlying landscape are executed with high quality following a “first time right delivery” approach.
  • Review on a regular base SAP EarlyWatch Alert (EWA) & HANA Mini Check, define and follow-up of actions based upon findings applicable to our environments.
  • Ensure all documentation of each SAP Landscape of maintained up -to-date by the Operations team, including HLD, LLD, Runbooks and standard Operating procedures.
  • As Service Manager, you will also be responsible for developing the relationship with the stakeholders leveraging the SAP environment under your responsibility:

  • Develop the stakeholder engagement framework to develop and maintain relationship with SAP functional teams across the organization
  • Define KPI’s to measure service quality
  • Responsible to develop and maintain a continuous improvement plan related to the SAP Basis Service
  • Develop, jointly with SAP and Infrastructure architects, technical roadmap for the SAP Infrastructure to fulfill Business requirements
  • Harmonize and standardize as much as possible the way we work and technology we leverage on the different SAP landscape under your scope of responsibility
  • Ensure that the documentation, preparation, design and execution of the Business Continuity Plan are performed smoothly, including Disaster Recovery Testing.
  • You are as well a key Contributor for all SAP Project related activities, ensuring availability of required resources, and smooth transition to operations.

  • Language: English (Fluent) Desirable: Second European Language (preferred)
  • Deeply Knowledgeable of SAP ECC, S4/Hana technical platform, including good level of knowledge on associated database technologies (Oracle, DB2, MaxDB, Hana)
  • The ability to translate business requirements into viable technical solutions
  • Analytical & driving results: assist in developing and deploying key governance, processes & procedures
  • Knowledge of Service Management principles (Preferred)

  • Experience / Education
    You are/have:

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience managing complex SAP landscape, ideally on the various technologies (ECC, S4/Hana, SUSE, RHEL, etc…)
  • Minimum five years’ experience in management of third party SAP practice
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT related discipline
  • Working in cross-functional teams on a European or Global level
