We are SkyGeo ️ and every day we provide our clients with essential geotechnical insights that allow them to understand very early how ground movement will impact their valuable assets. We help engineers, operators and decision-makers globally identify and understand millimeter-scale deformation patterns for assessing structural and geotechnical risk earlier and more efficiently by utilizing satellite based radar data.

To keep getting better at providing these insights at scale, we need the best people working with us. That's why we are looking for talented and motivated scientific software developers.

Preferably, this position will be located in Delft, the Netherlands, but we are open for remote working or helping you relocate.  

Your Role & Impact
Our new colleagues will contribute to the team building and scaling our data processing applications. Your main responsibilities are: 

• Maintain and scale our compute and storage hybrid cloud infrastructure

• Update computation framework to support scaling up, as well as supporting near-real time processing of SAR imagery and reporting

• Program/support adaptations in InSAR processing algorithms

• Implement GPU performance optimization

• Implement high-performance object storage interfaces

• Writing integration tests, documentation and training

• Improve scalability of SkyGeo service infrastructure.

The ideal candidate ✨

• Independent and eager learner

• Extensive experience in Linux and server administration

• Fluid in writing high-quality, maintainable production code Python (Numpy, Scipy, Numba, Shapely, Dask)

• InSAR, Geospatial programming, signal analysis

• HPC, Gluster, Object storage, SLURM

• AWS, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, K8s

• Agile software development practices - Git, CI/CD, unit and integration testing

• Proven track record of developing a high-quality and well-documented code
