Today, we are a team of 350 people, and we're continuing to grow. To support that growth, we're looking for a **Senior Backend Developer** who enjoys combining hands-on development with technical ownership and wants to help modernize one of the most business-critical parts of our platform.

**What will you be doing?**

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will join the team responsible for InShared's financial platform. This platform powers our billing, collections and payment processes and is essential to the day-to-day operation of the business.

Together with your team, you'll be responsible for ensuring customers are billed correctly, payments are processed successfully and collection processes run smoothly. This includes integrations with payment providers and external partners such as Mollie, Buckaroo, accounting systems, collection agencies, Independer and international aggregators.

A large part of the platform has been built over many years using PHP and SQL. Many business rules and financial processes currently live within the database layer. As a result, we're looking for a developer who is comfortable not only writing application code, but also understanding, maintaining and improving complex SQL logic.

You'll help keep our existing platform reliable while contributing to the long-term roadmap to modernize and simplify the architecture. This is not a lift-and-shift migration. Our billing and collections platform processes millions of euros and supports critical monthly business operations, which means modernization will happen gradually over the coming years.

Besides developing new functionality, you'll also:

* Take ownership of business-critical financial processes

* Analyse and resolve production incidents

* Support service desk tickets when needed

* Improve integrations with internal and external systems

* Contribute to architectural improvements and technical modernization

* Help us move towards a more modern CI/CD and Continuous Delivery approach
