Senior Maintenance Engineer - Utilities

The opportunity

Play a crucial role in the Utilities team at Teva Haarlem, where you'll collaborate with seven colleagues to maintain and optimize the pharmaceutical site's utilities, including Clean steam, Purified water, Water for injection, and HVAC. These utilities, when operating within optimal parameters, are indispensable for the production of life-saving medicines, making your contribution directly impactful on patient lives. Working within the day shift, you'll join forces with Technicians, fellow Maintenance engineers, Automation Engineer, and the Team Manager to ensure the optimal technical performance and availability of these essential utilities.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Optimizing the availability of installations and systems by leveraging automation and systems engineering methodologies. This includes setting up, preparing, and analyzing corrective and preventive maintenance of various installations, systems, and buildings according to GMP (pharmaceutical guidelines) and safety protocols. 
  • Enhancing the existing preventive long-term maintenance plan through analysis of maintenance and breakdowns, with a focus on automation and systems optimization. 
  • Conducting root-cause analyses for (complex) malfunctions, GMP reporting, and ensuring proper follow-up of defined measures, integrating automation solutions where applicable. 
  • Ensuring meticulous recording and documentation of maintenance activities according to GMP standards, with a keen eye on automation-related data. 
  • Coordinating with external suppliers and making proposals for technical modifications to enhance availability and operational efficiency, overseeing the implementation of these modifications with an automation-centric approach. 
  • Providing guidance and training to colleagues on the utilization of installations, systems, and internal work processes, emphasizing automation principles for efficiency and reliability.

    • Your experience and qualifications

  • HBO working and thinking level, and preferably a completed HBO course in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Physics or Technical Business Administration.
  • Knowledge of automation and systems engineering principles is advantageous, particularly in optimizing technical performance and efficiency within pharmaceutical utilities maintenance.
  • Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of maintenance.
  • Good command of English, both orally and in writing.
  • Positive basic attitude / appearance and a hands-on mentality.
  • Work experience in a similar position is plus.
  • Pharmaceutical experience is a plus.
