In this position you will join the Thales Netherlands IS/IT team. IS/IT is at the core of the Thales digital transformation, there is a close relationship between IS/IT and business.
With a team of 100+ colleagues we provide IS/IT support to our 2500 NL colleagues in several Business Lines and functions. The IS/IT department of Thales Netherlands works closely together with the international IS/IT departments of the Thales group.

About the job
Your work as a Senior Network Security Engineer is varied. Every day you start together with the team to discuss ongoing tasks during the stand-up and how to align these tasks. Both within the department and the team you work according to Agile/Scrum working methods. Throughout the week you focus on the sprint work together with your team. You work on securing, maintaining and further developing our IT Infrastructure. Preferably you have gained experience in enterprise environments where security and standardization are very important. A strong vision on securing IT infrastructures is what you advocate.
You are responsible for:
The design, implementation and support of Identity & Access Management (IAM) concepts like Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), identity provider services (IdP), Single Sign On (SSO), Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) and Radius-technology;
Ensuring that required network security principles are implemented in business managed environments.
Contributing to, and ensuring that, the vision and strategy for the products within your domain are aligned with the IS/IT department strategy.
Translating business demand to tailored IS/IT solutions according to the expectations of the stakeholders.
Collaboration with other squads and departments to optimize results.
You have:
expert knowledge of networking and security;
experience in creating high and low level designs;
experience in developing a business case to support infrastructure projects;
knowledge of Next Generation firewalls;
knowledge of Network, VPN, WiFi and proxy technologies;
knowledge of Network access control and monitoring;
knowledge of Web Application Firewalls;
experience with Enterprise Core switching: design, implementation and management;
broad experience with other IT components.
About you
We are looking for a colleague who:
preferably has a (technical) bachelor or master degree;
has at least 5 years relevant working experience;
is able to quickly master new domains and techniques;
is familiar with or is willing to learn setting up security/group policies, automation of recurring tasks, packaging, trouble-shooting, rolling out applications and other workspace management activities;
is familiar with Unix-based technologies (server and client) like RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu;
has experience within a complex enterprise IT environment;
has strong communication skills;
has experience with agile working or is open-minded in adopting new ways of working;
has a strong will to continue to develop him or herself, both on a personal and technical level;
can communicate in English.
