Senior Privacy Project Manager

Booking is currently looking for a world-class Snr Privacy Project Manager to join the Snr Privacy Programme Manager’s team, within Legal and Public Affairs (LPA) to manage the delivery of the privacy aspects of a large data migration project, and support Privacy Programme Office operations. The Snr Privacy Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders from across different business units or functions, either individually or in groups, to support the efficient and timely delivery of the da

ta migration project, and assist the Privacy Programme Office in achieving its objectives.

As the Snr Privacy Project Manager you will be required to have specific privacy, data governance and data management as well as exceptional project management skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Privacy and Data Management

  • Ensure Privacy by Design at each stage of the data migration compliance approach, inducing relevant privacy controls.
  • Enable the modernization of data use cases through the data delivery framework against baseline compliance.
  • Communicate and present the compliance approach to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Build training material and FAQs and perform relevant training.
  • Project Management

  • Apply structured methodology to and lead project/change management activities.
  • Lead independently End-to-end (E2E) the privacy aspects of the Data Migration Project from scoping to execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation.
  • Drive the project scoping and planning working with different teams and create associated documentation.
  • Bring clarity to sponsor, teams and stakeholders by defining and documenting project requirements, roadmap/E2E planning, risk and dependencies, cost estimates and in general project deliverables.
  • Drive the project plan execution, ensuring project objectives are met on agreed timelines.
  • Drive, track and report progress transparently and ensure successful delivery of the project, within agreed timelines and budget.
  • Conduct post implementation review and document lessons learned.
  • Ensure a project closing and correct handover to Business as usual.
  • Design and implement project governance and delivery structure to ensure efficient delivery, communication and decision making.
  • Primary point of contact for all project-related queries. Maintain high-level of engagement among geographically-diverse stakeholders through social channels, email, facilitation & setup of virtual meetings & classroom settings, as well as individual in-person meetings Ability to work and productively interact with different stakeholders up to Director level.
  • Define and measure the success metrics of the project.
  • Independently lead workshops to support the delivery of the project.
  • Skills and experience required:

  • Bachelor Degree in law/computer science/information systems or equivalent education
  • 5-8 years experience managing regulatory projects.
  • Privacy certifications (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) or similar.
  • Strong Project Management Experience. Preferably having a background in Agile Project Management.
  • Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of Privacy and risk management & control framework is mandatory.
  • PMP or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • With limited supervision, ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making.
  • Familiarity and experience with Data Governance and Management (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK).
  • Familiar with change management approaches; good understanding of the change curve and process.
  • Communication of the project insights and recommendations across all stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (both within a team and with wider stakeholders. Ability to work effectively and influence up to Senior Managers and DIrector Level.
  • Highly organized and structured and make sure all processes run smoothly and in a reliable manner. 
  • Be able to lead, motivate, and manage stakeholders and project teams to achieve organizational goals. Be able to influence and steer senior management and groups. Challenge assumptions and have the ability to adapt or generate imaginative and innovative ideas.
  • Flexibility and the ability to function well within ambiguity and in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision. Be able to break up a complex problem into actionable and easy to understand solutions. Be hands on and drive solutions to problems in partnership with the involved parties.
  • Ensure project outcomes are in line with customer needs and/or expectations.
  • Fluency in English with proven strong communication skills complemented by a particularly clear and concise written communication.
