Introduction to the job and job mission

For our Enterprise Service Management (ESM) Agile Release Train (ART), we are looking for experienced senior ServiceNow developers to strengthen the DevOps teams in this ART. ESM is positioned within IT and more specifically in Core IT Generic & Platform Services. At ESM we improve ASML’s people productivity, through an enterprise wide, one-stop-shop that makes it easy for employees to get fast and high-quality services. We do this with 5 DevOps teams delivering integrated and automated workflows making use of the ServiceNow platform.

A sr. Developer is responsible for turning functional specifications into the best possible technical implementation that is delivering maximum value for our stakeholders. This role is in the heart of an highly empowered team making its own decisions on how to best design, build and deliver new demand. All of this within guardrails set by the organization and architectural guidelines defined by the System Architect. A sr. Developer supports his Product Owner with the definition of crisp User Stories and more, supports the Scrum Master with building a high performing team and supports other team members with their personal development and growth by coaching and challenging them. Bringing the complete team to a higher level in value delivery, delivery predictability and agility is your mission.

Education and experience

As a senior developer with ServiceNow Administrator certification and 5 to 7+ years development experience in ServiceNow you are a master in designing, planning, building, delivering, and administering ServiceNow developments/changes. You advise on the solution direction and create technical solution designs, work with stakeholders and functional consultants to translate business requirements into sustainable ServiceNow developments, improvements and implementations. You perform the development of the more complex technical components and integrations and create reusable components which can be leveraged in future engagements. You act as a mentor, a coach and train junior ServiceNow developers

Skills and competences

Specific must haves:

  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow HRSD, CSM and other business and IT related modules (ITSM) and processes. A good understanding of related business concepts is a pre.
  • Strong consulting skills and able to identify, define, present and deliver customer-centric solutions from a technology perspective based on customer requirements in mentioned business domains.
  • Experience with the ServiceNow core application UI and workflow configuration (including flow designer), report development, integration components (e.g. LDAP, SSO, MuleSoft).
  • Experience with Web Technologies (e.g. JavaScript, Web Services, XML), Service Portal concepts (e.g. UI Builder, Angular JS) and working in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience with E2E solution delivery, including building, (automated) testing, CI/CD concepts and running operational activities (incident management, request automation, problem solving, root cause analysis)
  • Solid experience with owning continuous improvement of the processes, standards, policies, working methods and tools based on strong technical expertise in:Front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSSJavaScript, AngularJS and coding best practicesWeb Services Integration (SOAP, REST, and JSON)ServiceNow HRSD and CSM implementation certification and ITSM is required.
  • Besides the more technical skills and competences, you’re Agile and or SAFe certified. You’re highly motivated and energetic and can pass your enthusiasm towards the teams and others. Your consulting, mentoring and coaching skills are strong and you are a great result driven person and communicator. You are outgoing, actively building relationships while building value for your stakeholders. You act like an entrepreneur and take ownership.

    As ASML is an international organization, we are looking for a senior with excellent English communication and presentation skills, both verbal and in written communication. You will work in a global organization and with a distributed team of developers in The Netherlands (Europe) and India. Therefore, experience with working in distributed teams is a pre as well as having a MSc. degree in Information Technology, Data Science or equivalent and having multi-year experience in IT in a corporate organization. Having a valid work permit for The Netherlands is a must have.
