Your Role: We are looking for an innovation-centric Senior Software Engineer, Intelligent Automation, R&D Digital Products to join our IT R&D (Research & Development) Team who is passionate about designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform amongst others. The Senior Software Engineer will work with a team of developers and architects to create innovative solutions that improve efficiency and productivity, supporting R&D business requirements. The Senior Software Engineer will execute Intelligent Automations for Research, Discovery, and Development activities to enable data-driven insights to the R&D business. This position will report to the Intelligent Automation Architect, R&D Digital Products in IT.

Your Responsibility:

  • Design, develop and implement automations tailored for R&D functions such as Research Informatics, SDMS (Scientific Data Management System), Lab Management Systems, Research Data products, Pathology, Imaging, Pharmacology, Development Operations etc. on the Microsoft Platform.
  • Design and develop automations using Power Platform (and similar others) that meet functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Deliver automation projects, maintain automation center, automation solution manager and cloud flows using Dataverse tables to sync data from satellite environments to the main environment, working with Genmab’s Power Platform Center of Excellence.
  • Design, develop, and deploy automations that integrate automation with big data, analytics, AI, and machine learning following best practices and standards.
  • Enable visualizations of automation through Power BI providing insights and ability to monitor automation assets.
  • Leverage Starter Kit, Automation Kit for Power Platform for near real-time ROI/SLA and to achieve end-to-end automation for business processes.
  • Integrate automation with R&D systems and ensure security and compliance with the highest governance standards.
  • Utilize ready-to-use UI library components from tools such as Figma for creating user interfaces and wireframes, create Canvas Apps using Figma designs to fast-track agile rapid prototyping of automation design projects.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the automation solutions and the automation platform, ensuring reliability, availability, and scalability.
  • Test and debug automation solutions while ensuring quality, performance, and security.
  • Execute Power Platform ALM with DevOps process flows for Gitlab DevOps platform.
  • Deploy and maintain automation solutions in collaboration with the Intelligent Automation Architect, IT R&D POD Managers, Product Owners, and Business Leaders to ensure alignment with business and scientific objectives with considerations to GxP, multi-environment strategy and DLP security strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Technical Product Owners, Technical Delivery leads, developers, data engineers, visualization engineers, data scientists, AI/ML Engineers, Bioinformaticians, and domain experts, to design automation solutions, and deliver high-quality intelligent automations across R&D.
  • Apply innovative solutions to optimize legacy systems, elevate automation from a tactical to a strategic IT capability, and accelerate the digital agenda of the Organization.
  • Play a pivotal role in automation that empowers our scientists and researchers in R&D, contribute to the improvement and innovation of automation platform, and processes.
  • Stay current on the latest automation features and explore new ways to improve automation solutions for R&D product-oriented deliveries.

Your Qualifications:

  • Experience in Life Sciences, Biotech or Pharma industry is a must have.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automation development, testing, and deployment using cloud-based platforms and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Azure Automation, Power Platform CoE Starter kit, PowerShell, Sharepoint, ALM accelerators for Power Platform, Power Platform Automation Center of excellence, Automation administration and governance.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C# and RPA tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain modular, scalable, and reusable automation solutions using best practices and standards.
  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data techniques to automate complex business processes and optimize performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in working with legacy systems and integrating them with cloud-based automations.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Certification in Power Platform such as Power Platform Fundamentals/Developer Associate, Cloud Computing, Automation, or AI/ML is a plus.
