Within Alfa Laval Business Unit Heat & Gas Systems we develop sustainable equipment and installations for the maritime industry. Our customers are ship owners and yards worldwide.

About the job

In Automation Development we develop and maintain software and tooling for products within BU Heat and Gas Systems with primary focus on environmental solutions for marine vessels.
 

Currently Alfa Laval is looking for a motivated and results-oriented person with interest in industrial automation and deep understanding of software architecture and software development methodologies.

Your daily tasks:

  • Software engineering on PLC
  • Web-based HMI development
  • Working with V-model based development and ISA88 modular software including creation of documentation (i.e. Requirements, ISA88 diagrams, FDS and test protocols).
  • Proactively automate processes wherever necessary.
  • Designing system integration tests, setting up CI/CD pipelines to test our software.
  • Ensuring Cyber security of our systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams.

    • Who you are

    You are a creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail. The nature of the position requires you to possess excellent analytical and debugging skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a drive to make a difference.

    Further, you have:

  • University degree or Bachelor of Engineering (e.g. Industrial Automation / Computer Science / Embedded Systems) (MSc, MEng, BSc, BEng).
  • Experience with or interest to learn industrial automation PLC’s (Structured Text, B&R), related standards and terminology (ISA88, PackML, OPC UA)
  • Experience with at least one higher programming language, such as C++, Python, Java Script and/or TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of object orientation basics and best practices.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Knowledge of web development with Angular, HTML/CSS is a plus.
  • Having experience with Azure DevOps and Scrum is a plus.
  • Good communicative skills.
