At Prysmian plant in Delft, around 400 persons are involved in the development, production, engineering, sales, installation and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage cable systems.
Team overview and job responsibilities:
Within the commercial team, the project engineering department is responsible for the technical integrity of the offered solutions to our customers.
Preparation of the technical part of project tenders, based on clients specifications;
Support Sales with the presentation of technical solutions to customers;
Support Project management during the installation of cable systems;
Involvement and providing input in R&D projects, type tests, special tests etc..
For the department ‘Project Engineering’ we have vacancy for a Project Engineer.
Your daily duties will include, and You will be responsible on the following:
Unique engineered solutions. As a Project Engineer, you’ll be tasked with translating customer functional specifications into cable system designs. This includes designing cables, accessories, earthing systems, tests, auxiliary systems, and monitoring systems. Your focus will be on achieving technical integrity, managing risks, optimizing costs, and adhering to R&D timelines.
Understanding market driver. You’ll keep a keen eye on market trends and drivers which involves identifying product types, design preferences, civil solutions, testing specifications, competitor offerings, and installation developments. By understanding market needs, you’ll contribute to shaping Prysmian’s cable solutions.
Voice of the customer: As the voice of the customer, you’ll prepare R&D proposals based on market trends and customer requirements. Your insights will drive innovation and product development.
Teamwork: Working within a matrix organization, you’ll play a pivotal role in tender teams. This means supporting sales, tender management, and installations. Collaboration with R&D is essential, especially when system engineering expertise is needed.
Market conformity. Signalling needs for (re-)new type tests, prequalification tests and other tests. By staying informed about testing requirements, you’ll contribute to maintaining high-quality cable systems.
Networking: Participate in (inter-)national standardization work, working groups, taskforces, meet with engineers from our customers and subcontractors. These interactions foster knowledge exchange and industry collaboration.
Administration: Harmonize and standardize documentation, calculations, procedures, technical descriptions etc.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a candidate, who has:
Bachelor or Master degree in a technical study, preferably Electrical Engineering;
Preferably experience to collaborate within matrix organisation
Affinity with technology and projects and interested in energy transition.
