Statutory Analyst ICTC DACH and Benelux

:Mars has centralized its tax, treasury and statutory reporting activities per local centers that have a geographical responsibility (ICTCs). The ICTCs play a key role within the Mars Finance (S&F) organization, both locally and globally. The ICTC Benelux team is responsible for servicing a large number of legal entities in both Belgium and the Netherlands.Due to the expansion of our team, we are looking for a Statutory Analyst. As a Statutory Analyst you are primarily responsible for the preparation, filling and statutory audit of the local statutory accounts for the Mars legal entities in The Netherlands and Belgium.In addition, ensures the Company Directors’ fiduciary duties are met and requires effective collaboration between different functions and stakeholders including Finance (MGS-F, global T&B, regional and local Controllers), Legal, Third-Party advisors, external auditors, local company Directors, local authorities etc. This role will execute the statutory accounting strategy as determined together with the statutory accounting manager; and will support the function by providing the transparency necessary for effective decision making and sign-off on statutory filings and audits. Furthermore, you are responsible for the administration of the Holding companies in the Netherlands. The Statutory Analyst will also take on ad-hoc projects and/or functional support across the Tax and Treasury functions as assigned by the ICTC Head. The Statutory Analyst will play a hands on role in the onboarding of new acquisitions within the ICTC’s scope as well. The role will report into the Statutory Manager ICTC. What would be your key responsibilities? Statutory Accounting Process

  • Responsible for initiating local statutory accounting adjustments for general transactions, depreciation, inventory, tax, financing and other transactions.
  • Responsible to monitor and ensure up to date knowledge of local statutory accounting and reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Identifies and accurately maps / accounts for any adjustments to USGAAP necessary to comply with local statutory accounting requirements across all entities in The Netherlands and Belgium.
  • Designs, implements approved and maintains processes and tools for adjusting US GAAP primary Mars books to local statutory accounting books.
  • Collaborates effectively with other Mars Finance (S&F) functions including the shared service centre called MGS-Finance, Controllers etc.
  • Maintain relationship with local authorities, management board, supervisory board and Works Council.
  • Preparation of all documentation regarding the approval and filing of Statutory Financial Statements
  • Statutory External Audit

  • Acts as a point of contact to provide full support for auditors on local financial statements audits, including coordination of information:
  • Ensures full understanding of audit plan.
  • Evidence collection.
  • Work with MGS-Finance / Controllers team as appropriate.
  • Responds and closes external auditors’ questions.
  • Administration of Dutch Holding activities:

  • Prepare adjustments for period end close activities.
  • Period end group reporting.
  • Quarterly group reporting.
  • As Needed Tax and Treasury Support

  • Provide ad-hoc support (including possible project management support) on Tax and Treasury projects and/or functional support as needed.
  • Standardization and improvement of existing processes within the larger ICTC team.
  • What are we looking for?

  • Academic degree in Accounting, with or in training to become an additional professional accounting qualification (RA/AA). A similar education plus relevant working experience may also qualify.
  • At minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounting of Finance department.
  • A preference for external reporting. Knowledge of IFRS not required.
  • Experience with US Gaap is a pre, as is working knowledge of SAP.
  • Good Dutch and English communication skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills in order to interact with finance staff and senior management.
  • Team player, enthusiastic, informal, perseverant and independent.
  • Great in solving problem and setting priorities.
  • Proven digital agility is a pre.
