Next Generation Sensors B.V.  makes mass spectrometry easily available anywhere and for everyone with the Handheld Molecular Contaminant Screener (HMCS). The portable mass spectrometer measures samples within minutes on the spot. With its user-friendly interface, the HMCS will be usable for everyone without prior training. We work in a small, yet growing team of various nationalities and disciplines.

We are looking for a enthousiastic computer programmer student who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming. You will be working on the optimization of the user experience of software for the control a novel portable mass-spectrometer, and the design and development of new modules and functions. The intern can start as soon as possible. In addition, the internship should be flexible, and easy to do besides your studies.

• Closely coordinating with the R&D team to define the technical requirements.
• Designing software system architecture and embedded modules.
• Completing data structures.
• Designing and implementing scalable web services, applications, and APIs.
• Writing well-organized code of good quality
• Troubleshooting and bug fixing.
• Identifying problems and improving software efficiency.
• Handle security and data protection settings.
• Work in close contact with data scientists and analysts.
• Writing technical documents.

Vereisten

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar
• Knowledge of developing web applications and SaaS.
• Knowledge of front-end languages: JavaScript, HTML, CSS; knowledge of C++ is a plus.
• Proficiency with JavaScript framework Angular
• Knowledge of Python. Familiarity with Electron framework and Node.js is a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux systems and embedded systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development and versioning using GIT.
• Data analysis and Machine Learning knowledge will be a plus.
• Good verbal and oral communication in English.
• Able to commute to our office to Maastricht.
