The Role
Within the EMEA Supply Chain Team for Specialty Ingredients based in Amsterdam, an opportunity has arisen for a SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER. The Supply Chain Planner acts as the orchestrator of the supply chain, responsible for managing the production flow from our production plants and 3rd party supplier into our warehouses. The Supply Chain Planner ensures to have the right stocks, at the right place, at the right time in order to fulfill our customer orders. Next to this, the Supply Chain Planner is responsible for managing our planning tools, reporting, cost management and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
The main duties of this role will include:

  • Collaborate with sales on forecasting;
  • Determining production, shipping and/or rework quantities;
  • Entering, following up and coordinating purchase orders;
  • Coordination of transport;
  • Defining the safety stock settings and manufacturing strategies;
  • Inventory management including reducing slow moving and obsolete stock;
  • Managing relationships with logistic service providers, co-manufacturers and re-packers
  • Master data support and managing the planning parameters in our planning tools;
  • Process and costs improvement;
  • Monthly reporting of figures on inventory, service and costs;
  • Support further improvements and implementations of planning systems and other tools;
  • Ad hoc project management work and support.
  • Qualifications and experience
    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • HBO degree;
  • APICS qualification preferred;
  • Preferably 0-3 years of experience in a planning and/or supply chain related field;
  • Knowledge of export/import documentation;
  • Experience in Food/Agri-business industry preferred;
  • Broad experience of SAP/JDE or other ERP systems;
  • Skilled in Excel & PowerPoint;
  • Flexible and stress-resistant;
  • Customer focused;
  • The ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple, competing priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal communication and analytical skills;
  • Focused on performance and results;
  • Fluent in English is a must. Fluent in Dutch is preferred.
