Sustainability Director
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced sustainability professional to join our team as the Director of Sustainability Technology. In newly created role, you will play a crucial part in developing sustainability data delivery strategies for internal stakeholders and customers, building strategic customer relationships, and empowering sales teams with technical sustainability materials. The ideal candidate will thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and possess the ability to work across multiple functions and organizational levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the decarbonization data and analytics team, ensuring the accurate and timely collection, analysis, and reporting of GHG emissions data.
Oversee the development and implementation of climate risk evaluation methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer sustainability data, enabling effective communication of Equinix's sustainability initiatives and performance.
Empower sales teams by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and technical training to effectively communicate Equinix's sustainability value proposition to customers.
Develop and execute sales engagement strategies that leverage sustainability as a differentiator, driving revenue growth and customer loyalty.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to sustainability, and provide strategic guidance to the Vice President of Sustainability and other stakeholders.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the Sustainability Program Office.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's (BS) degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental or Computer Science, Engineering, or Business) is required. Advanced degree preferred (MSc, MBA).
Several years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related fields, with a focus on data analytics and technology. Experience in the Data Center Industry preferred.
Strong understanding of GHG accounting methodologies, climate risk evaluation frameworks, and sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, GRI).
Proven track record of successfully managing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Direct experience working with customers or customer facing teams.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and organizational levels, fostering a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Passion for sustainability and a deep understanding of the business case for integrating sustainability into core business strategies.
