System & Infrastructure Engineer || Linux - Windows
**We're looking for a new colleague to join our Systems \& Infrastructure team.**
In this role, you'll work across the full WTSS IT infrastructure. And because of what we do, that infrastructure is genuinely interesting. It's a broad technical role where Linux, Windows, networking, scripting and many different types of hardware all come together.
Our infrastructure is essential to our daily operation. As a FinTech partner for banks, we run real-time banking and payment journeys. Day and night, we execute tests for our clients across all kinds of hardware --- PCs, laptops, smartphones and tablets.
That means your work directly contributes to our technical reliability, continuity and security.
Together with two other colleagues, you'll be responsible for keeping our environment running, maintaining it and continuously improving it. The goal is that you can fully cover for one another when needed. So we're looking for someone who can work independently, keeps a clear overview and actually enjoys understanding multiple layers of infrastructure.
#### **Who is WTSS?**
Banks process millions of transactions every day. When something goes wrong, issues need to be found, understood and resolved quickly. That's where we come in.
WTSS is an independent FinTech partner for international banks. We act as a safe, patient and risk-free 'pilot customer', so banks don't have to test new or critical journeys on their actual customers.
We design structured test journeys --- both manual and automated --- across many different environments to detect issues early and help our clients understand what is really happening.
From our HQ in Rotterdam, a small and highly technical team of around 20 people works for some of the world's largest banks.
We call ourselves **ethical techies** : curious technical people who enjoy breaking things in order to make them better. Incidents don't scare us; they make us curious.
#### **What you'll be doing**
This role is quite different from the average systems or infrastructure position. You won't be one small part of a large DevOps transformation. The work is much more hands-on and technical --- a bit like infrastructure work used to be, but without the slow-moving legacy environment.
You'll be working on things such as:
* Managing both Linux and Windows environments
* Scripting with Bash and PowerShell, and improving automation processes
* Managing and improving our network and firewall environment, including OPNsense firewalls with high-availability pairs and UniFi switches
* Working with virtualisation and backup environments, including Proxmox VE clusters, Ceph storage and Proxmox Backup Server
**In short: real, hands-on systems and infrastructure work. If you enjoy understanding how things work, solving technical problems and getting your hands dirty, your analytical brain will feel right at home here.**
