Systems Engineer - Multibody Analyses

As Systems Engineer you will sit within our Defense business line and be based mainly at our site in Papendrecht. You will join a team of 8 dedicated to the NH90 helicopter program and you will report to the Centre of Competence Manager for Systems Engineering. 

The main focus of this role will be the Multibody Analyses of the NH90 helicopter Landing Gear. As Systems Engineer, you will manage the integration / system engineering activities and you will cooperate with your counterparts in Airbus Germany, Airbus France and Leonardo Helicopters Italy. Your main activities will be:

  • Translating the technical and functional requirements from airworthiness and customer on helicopter level into requirements on Fokker component/part level,
  • Performing technical engineering activities (analyses, tests, simulations) with an emphasis on Landing Gear Multi-body Analyses,
  • Aligning (the requirements) with our Partner Companies, customers and the operating companies within GKN Fokker,
  • Technically managing work packages and subcontractors.

    Your Responsibilities

    As Systems Engineer your focus is mainly on Multi-body Analyses of NH90 Landing Gear and your key accountabilities will be:

  • Creating a downflow of technical data from system level to component level,
  • Perform Multibody Analyses and be the technical specialist internationally for GKN Fokker NH90 items,
  • Define the specification of system level requirements to component requirements and proposed means of compliances,
  • Ensure the integration of components to Helicopter system level and ensure compliance,
  • Resolve dependencies on the technical content,
  • Represent technically GKN Fokker in the international field.
  • What you'll bring

    We are looking for a Systems Engineer who has an ambition to succeed and, therefore, they will bring passion for aerospace engineering, energy and expertise. To be successful in this role, you need to be analytical but also decisive, working and communicating in a precise manner and enjoying cooperation. In addition, as Systems Engineer you bring:

  • Bachelor / master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering,
  • Extensive knowledge of multidisciplinary system integration to Helicopter systems,
  • Experience in Landing Gear dynamic modelling,
  • Know-how in setting up and executing System Engineering processes,
  • Experience in managing work packages and subcontractors,
  • Familiarity with EASA part 21 and/or EMAR part 21,
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills,
  • Excellent verbal and written command of English; fluency in Dutch would be considered a plus,
  • Helicopter view, shows initiative, team player,
  • Able to represent GKN Fokker,
  • Willingness to travel abroad in Europe multiple times per year.
