We are looking for a (Senior) Verification and Validation Engineer for our underwater defence and security division with starting time as soon as possible. You will become a part of our young and enthusiastic R&D team, working in a dynamic and stimulating international environment, with great growth opportunities. In this role, you will design, plan, coordinate, execute and report the testing of new system components and sensor prototypes as a part of our development process.

Your duties and responsibilities would include:

• Conceptualization of lab test setups and testing methodologies in accordance with project requirements and the relevant standards.
• Design and realization of lab test setups and the associated infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical and software components (in collaboration with our mechanical/electrical/software engineers).
• Performing the required testing activities according to the developed methodology and planning, with focus on safety, quality and time aspects.
• Processing and evaluation of measurement data, as well as reporting and documenting the test results for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintenance and upgrading of test benches and test equipment in the lab.
• Interacting and providing feedback to hardware and software R&D engineers supporting development and improvement of our sensors and sensing systems.
• Documentation and handover of the test setups, corresponding HW/SW infrastructure and evaluation algorithm to our production team.

The ideal candidate…

… probably doesn't exist, but we would like to get to know you if you check a few boxes below:

• MSc in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics engineering, experimental physics or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar position as a test, verification and/or validation engineer.
• Broad experience with interfacing, controlling and automation of lab and measurement equipment.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with data acquisition, signal conditioning and processing.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, or LabView.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Experience in environmental, vibrational and/or EMC testing and relevant MIL standards is a big plus.
• Structured and independent way of working.
• Experience with fiberoptic measurement principles and/or interferometry is a plus.
