Business Developer
Akela Hub (powered by Unknown Group) is an AI-driven platform that provides innovation data to industry leaders and the VC/PE markets. We have been in development for the last three years and recently spun out of Unknown Group, known for its work in corporate innovation with giants like Shell, Unilever, and Bayer. What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a Business Developer who will generate new commercial opportunities for the company. This role is critical to our team because a successful candidate will make meaningful contributions to driving sales and improving overall GTM processes for the team. In this role, you will work directly with our CCO to scale up Akela's success and collaborate with corporate giants and their innovation teams.
At Akela, you’ll be:
- Creating and managing a Sales Pipeline
- Exploring and sourcing new sales opportunities in unexplored markets
- Creating go-to-market strategies
- Cold and warm outreach to prospective clients
- Provide input on strategic decisions related to our sales strategy
- Create and manage Scope of Works and invoices
- Provide Customer Feedback to the Dev team
- Attend relevant events to share the news about Akela
- Build a solid network of contacts and relationships
For this position we are looking for an enthusiastic team player that thrives in a new company and has the right attitude and skills to continue to grow into an increasingly impactful and successful career here.
More specifically, we’re looking for someone with the following characteristics:
- Driven with a track record of excelling at whatever you set your mind to
- 1-3 years of commercial experience
- A “just fix-it” mentality. Someone who cares about getting things done
- Thriving in a startup environment: Flying the plane while building it and comfort with ambiguity.
- Excellent communication skills across a variety of stakeholders (technical/business)
- Living and able to work in the Netherlands, we are not able to sponsor VISA’s
Bonus:
- Understanding the Dutch language
- Fluency in other languages
- Experience with HubSpot/Salesforce
- Experience with startups and corporate innovation
- An extensive network in the corporate innovation or VC space
- Techsavy
- SaaS experience
