Commissioning Engineer (Internationaal)
As Commissioning Engineer you will be responsible for commissioning and delivering CPM machines and systems to customers. In this challenging position you will coordinate the work activities at the customer's premises, as well as resolving problems during installation of the production lines and also transfer to the customer organization information regarding the operation and maintenance of the CPM machines.
The sales activities of CPM Europe, which also include the placement of machinery, commissioning and service activities, are geographically spanning the world. This means that a number of our sales and service staff regularly spend time working abroad. While placing and commissioning the machinery, and performing maintenance and repairs, employees often have to fend for themselves to resolve any problems that occur. Language problems, culture and working procedures of local contractors / employees as well as not always having the right parts and tools also play a role. Whilst abroad, employees are occasionally faced with delays and an extended stay, which can make it difficult to schedule private appointments at home. Therefore, this position regularly requires a high level of creativity, improvisational skills and flexibility from the employee.
Job requirements:
- Travel to site as arranged to Inspect and commission production lines.
- Verify that the assembly and the installation of the equipment has been completed correctly and perform mechanical, electrical and controls testing in accordance with CPM installation and delivery documentation.
- Ensure the agreed contractual requirements are followed through in a practical way to ensure Safe operation of the CPM equipment and systems so that they reach the agreed production capacity and product quality requirements.
- Analyse the test results and evaluate whether the different machines in the production line comply with the specifications.
- Follow and record the machinery details using the company installation and Test checklists and procedures.
- List and where possible resolve any problems that occur while setting up the production line.
- Prepare progress reports on the commissioning, applications and references and provide this information to the different departments. Evaluate the installation work with the help of drawings, diagrams of CPM machines or the complete production line at the client site.
- Verify that the necessary spare parts / machinery and tools are on hand, as well as the fittings the customer has installed for setting up the machine / production line.
- Take the necessary safety precautions.
- Check the machine or production line assembly and ensure correct installation of all the necessary connections and systems.
- Delegate tasks to the customer’s (assistant) technicians and the workers hired on site.
- Start up and perform a test run of the machine or production line. Assist with production capacity test as contractually required.
- Resolve problems during assembly, installation, testing and test runs on site with the resources available there.
- Transfer knowledge of the machine, installation, the use and maintenance of the machine or production line to the customer (customer’s employees).
Description of qualities required for the role:
- Strong mechanical mind with a reasonable electrical installation and controls systems ability.
- Internal organisation and organisational objectives
- Products and delivery programmes of CPM machines and modifications performed
- Knowledge of the customer’s production process, machine functions and knowledge of materials in order to be able to analyse and resolve problems / failures
- Different operating methods (electronic, hydraulic, air pressure, electrical engineering) for the implemented machinery
- Read drawings and diagrams (electrical engineering, hydraulic and air)
- Systematically analyse failures
- Measure and adjust techniques
- Type and use of tools and (auxiliary) tools and machinery
- State of technology in professional area
- The applicable ARBO (safety, health and welfare), environmental regulations and the Working Hours Act.
Minimum Required education
- MBO plus (secondary vocational education) and 5 years of relevant work experience.
Other information:
Most of the work is carried out on the client's premises. You must be prepared to travel on a regular basis.
